They've pretty much always stuck with that sound, though.

I like everything Rolf has released including Rogues En Vogue. However, I will admit that not every RW release has been a classic - some are really good whilst others are just good and generally better praised and regarded by hardcore.
That said, imo the key to a good RW album is band chemistry. Sure Rolf is the ship's captain but without a dedicated crew you can't get very far. The was the main problem of the last several RW albums; lack of a proper band - drums were programmed, and the second guitarist's involvement unlike in with past line-ups was very limited.
Rolf needs to find another guitarist with whom he can work on crafting some memorable quality sounding songs. I hope this will be the case with the new album. I hope in that regard that this isn't another one-man band effort for Rolf.

+2. I like Running Wild and while not every song is a classic, Rolf is a good musician.

The only Running Wild I have ever heard is Pile Of Skulls...and that was a long time ago...the 90s, I think.

I think they shifted. Albums after Victory, while not bad were mostly boring, nothing too memorable when it was done. But maybe it's because i'd heard so much of their stuff.

I've only heard Black Hand Inn myself. Got it when I was in the navy in Italy. Great metal album that ranks as one of my all time favorite metal albums.

Black Hand Inn rocks!!!
Especially Fight The Fire Of Hate, I fregin' LOVE that song!
This is not a RW album. It is sophomore TOXIC TASTE album, a.k.a Rolf's solo project disguised under the RW logo for better sales. A clever business tactic, albeit somewhat insulting to the die-hard RW fans like myself.
Did anyone get this yet? I got the deluxe box set today which comes with the deluxe cd/dvd, vinyl, a book of the history of the band, postcard, sticker and a poster. I listened to the vinyl just for the hell of it and I have to say that I really like the album. The only song I don't like is the last song which has to do about Dracula, its just a boring song otherwise I think its a good listen. My problem with the last few of their albums is they were too long. Thats a problem I really have with a lot of bands but theres only so many songs you can hear about pirates and that might be another reason why I like the new album. It was getting to be a stale topic.

My only point of reference is Black Hand Inn and I agree as far as that's concerned. However, I liked what I heard and as soon as it's possible, I will be ordering this.

I looked at it when I was at Manifest Discs earlier. Started to pick it up . But decided against it since I haven't checked out any songs from this yet.

It "sounds" like RW but the lyrics changed. I like it, its better than that Toxic Taste crap
