It looks like a Blue Note Liberty Records stereo version and it does have RVG's stamp in the vinyl. There's another stamp that reads BNST 84123 instead of BST 84123. I know that there is some sort of difference, because I have two Jimmy Smith - Prayer Meetin' lps. One is on Blue Note and the other is on Blue Note, a division of Liberty Records. I just don't know what year that happened.
I found it!!!! It's the 1993 Japanese Reissue. The runout is what identifies it: Matrix / Runout: BNST-84123 A/B 1S http://www.discogs.com/Kenny-Burrell-Midnight-Blue/release/2719545
Mine is a complete anomaly, It's in U.S. packaging with that matrix number. Doesn't match the pictures that they show for it. Now I don't know.

Do you have last year's Michael Monroe "solo" album with Ginger from the Wildhearts on guitar and cowriting every song? If you like The Wildhearts, you'd dig that one. My #2 album of the year for 2011.

Liberty Records bought Blue Note from Alfred Lion in 1967. Pre-1967 have no mention of Liberty Records. Midnight Blue was originally released in 1963 and then re-issued after the Liberty Records buyout. So this Japanese issue is essentially a reissue of the Liberty reissue. The RVG stamp is present because they used the same stampers as the original 1963 release.
