Can't wait for The Unforgotten. They have some fantastic b-sides, like "Bury the Hatchet" and "The Ballad Of Clarence Heckles."

There may never be another new album. Did you read the interview I did with Lyle in Shock Totem #3?

3 copies - I love me some Ghoultown. I bought Life After Sundown based on the cover alone. One of the best blind buys I've gotten in years.

they turned me on to the horrorbilly scene. Ken told me about them and I enjoyed them from the first listen.

Make it 4. I'm a recent convert to all things Ghoultown. They were a late addition for me around Christmas time, but I enjoy everything I've heard so far.

That was creepily cool! His voice is dead on for Johnny Cash. Do you know if they've ever covered Long Black Veil? They should!

He has done Ring of Fire. I dig them a lot.

If you dig things a bit faster, more punk, check out The Killcreeps.
They were basically the beginning of Ghoultown, even if that wasn't Lyle's intent. The seeds were planted with this album. A couple tunes on this album were even re-recorded as Ghoultown songs.

Has there been an expected release date for this one? I can't find any info on their website. Although I did discover that they have 2 other albums out that I wasn't aware of, Tales from the Dead West and Boots of Hell. Unfortunately they're both out of print. Dag-nabbit!
The Killcreeps song wasn't bad, but I prefer Ghoultown's groove a bit more.

Lyle alluded to it that they might have run their course but he didnt close the door.
I need boots of Hell too. I am hoping its on the Rarities cd along with the songs from the records...

Nothing yet. The image was just posted on Facebook with a promise of more info forthcoming.
And yes, those two albums can be tough to find for under $20. They're good albums, but raw. More like really good-sounding demos, you know. Every now and then, though, you can nab them for cheap. I scored two copies of Boots of Hell for under $10 each a while back.
And I don't know if they'll break up, but this is why Lyle said in my interview with him:
Quote :
KW: Any timeline set for a new album?
CL: I’m not sure when or if that is going to happen. As it stands right now, I haven’t written any songs for it. Due to some personal things that have happened this past year, I haven’t been able to find any Ghoultown inspiration. I sit down with the guitar all the time, but I can’t seem to come up with a single riff. It’s like a fire that has gone cold. I’m hoping that by going off and doing something totally different for awhile, like writing, it might reignite things, but at the moment I seem to be bone dry of musical ideas.
In the meantime, I’ve been thinking about releasing some sort of “rare and unreleased” type collection. We have so many old songs that never got released, or ones that were only on compilations or movie soundtracks, that it might be something cool for our long-time fans. We get e-mails asking about this track or that all the time, so I know some people would like to have our entire catalog. But at this point it’s just an idea.
So we got the collection. Hopefully he penned a new song and got the creative juices flowing a bit again.
He also expressed how hard it was for them to tour and stuff because people don't know how to classify them. They can't get on bigger tours, opening for bigger bands, and they have a tough time getting people to book them for smaller gigs.
Unbelievable that originality can be a damn roadblock to success.

Me, too. But I can hope my purchase helps finance a future studio album. Maybe I should ask Locky to do a limited run of this album. =)
