2011 So Far

2011 is starting to shape up toward the end of the year (Anthrax, Cooper, Megadeth, etc), but the first half was kinda on the weak-ish side of things. I haven't gotten as much "metal" this year either. I should remedy that. Most of my purchases have been of the "hard rock" variety. The few I really dig in no particular order:

Foo Fighters - Wasting Light

Alice Cooper - Welcome 2 My Nightmare
Ghost - Opus Eponymous
Beady Eye - Different Gear, Still Speeding
Anthrax - Worship Music

The new Motorhead and Social Distortion left me cold. I had high hopes for both, but they've both been "meh". Some others that I've got this year that have been decent or even pretty good, but nothing mind shattering:

Atomic Bitchwax - The Local Fuzz
Duff McKagen's Loaded - The Taking

Probably most of those could use some repeated spins. I just don't dedicate enough time to new tunes like I used to.

I am extremely guilty of this too. A new CD needs to pretty much interest me right away or I tend to just file it away in The Vault. That's what's keeping me from buying the new Alice Cooper. I keep reading reviews that include the phrase "...but after repeated spins..."

Oh yeah I forgot to list that Wolf album. Its definitely a good album!

This will be in my top list and I haven't even finished it yet. This freaking album smokes!

I just ordered the new Edguy and I'm holding off on the new Opeth, Mastodon, Leaves' Eyes, Journey, and Sebatian Bach until funds have a chance to be replinished.
