You obviously spelled the last word of the name of the band wrong...unless there is another band in the style called Six Feet Deep I am unaware of.

Six Feet Deep is a groove based band from the 90's.

The music is good, I just cannot stand the vocals - never have, never will. I like the instrumental side of older death metal, but I find the more modern variety to beflat our boring, noisy music - really, it's just noisy! And I'm a die-hard heavy metal fan - It may be all technical and sick, but it's just lotsa' chords played very fat after each other accompanied by furious blast beats, it just starts to sound incredibly samey. I do enjoy some Death though, especially because Chuck's vocals ain't scraping the bottom of the ocean pitch-wise like most death metal vocalists.

Thanks for posting those MC666.
I really like the simpler, straight forward death metal. I think that's why I like Six Feet Under and that first Metanoia CD so much.

yeah, i thought you might be able to get into some of those. very mid paced & thick sounding, with only the occasional blast part. not far removed from early Bolt Thrower & Six Feet Under, just sonically heavier.
i just love all death metal.

Do you have the Metanoia CDs? I might have an extra CD copy of one of their albums I can send you.

Early death metal was catchier/more memorable than all of todays bands tuning to Z and trying to out tech and out brutal each other.

Can't remember which I have an extra of, I'll check and let you know. If it's one of the other two, it's yours.

Death, Morbid Angel, Possessed, and Deicide are some of my favorite death metal bands. Assuming most people here have at least some familiarity with those bands, I'd also recommend:
