favorite metal 'genre' poll

Just a quick curious thread. I am wondering ... if everyone who posts at HoM could please vote. I'd like to see a reflection of this board in their musical tastes. Nothing like a big picture to help you understand friends better, right?



I am thinking there is gonna be a 'thrash' majority, but you never know right?



Favorite genre of metal ...

And if you are having trouble picking 'just one', this is multiple choice. But don't just vote them all if you like them all. Vote your faves only!

At this time last year, I would have voted "Power Metal" hands down.

I've changed a lot over the past year though. So my choice today is different.

I voted Traditional Heavy Metal and Hard Rock equally. Those are actually my two new faves these days. I still love my power metal though.

Traditional metal. Its neck and neck with thrash, but it comes in first by a hair.

Thrash, Death and Traditional

Doom metal and hard rock for me. Although these days I find myself not listening to much metal at all.

I've always gotta have my fix of metal - no matter how much 'non' metal stuff I listen to. That's just me though - I'm and addict of metal. What can I say? I belong to M.A. - metal-aholics anonymous.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I still dig it a lot of the time. It's just that if someone were to ask me what I listen to the most, metal wouldn't be too high on the list.

I forgot to vote for Death Metal, but my favorites are Traditional, Death, Hard Rock/ AOR, and Thrash.

Power, Prog, and Death metal for me.

Traditional with thrash and progressive right behind it by a hair. I've also really come to enjoy some glam and AOR stuff lately.

i am impressed with all the folks into AOR/Hard Rock!

I identify with punk rock and hardcore mostly so the closest metal genre to that would be thrash, but nowadays ive been getting really into doom and prog.
