Subject: What Does The Average American Man Know About Denmark? Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:51 am
Title says it all - I watched this video of a danish guy on holiday in the States, where he randomly interviewed americans he met on the street, asking them what they knew about Denmark - it was hilarious to say the least.
So, here's my question to the americans on this board - what do you know about Denmark?

It's in Europe. They make some decent beers. And whatever Wikipedia tells me. That's about it.

Danes live there and I think it is the backdrop for Beowulf(sp)
oh, there was a strong WWII resistance there against the Nazis.

It's spelled Denmark.
It's somewhere near Norway.

I too believe Beowulf was set there. The capital is Copenhagen and the weather is pretty cold in the winter but mild (temperate) in the summer..

They often complain about the noise coming from neighboring Norway, especially around Kmorg's house.

I know some because I did a report on Denmark in High School.
They did stand up to the Nazis, and did much to protect them. If I recall it's a constitutional monarchy and has a mixed market capitalist economy.

I have been meaning to read Saxo Grammaticus's "History of the Danes" for a while now, hopefully I'll get around to that soon.
In the Icelandic sagas, the Danes always seem to be pretty fierce, and a constant bane for the Norwegians.
