How is their 2nd album, Waking into Nightmares? I have their debut, which I like, but I never bothered to get their 2nd for reasons I don't remember.

I'll have to take a listen. I think these guys kinda got lost in the shuffle for me when that whole wave of new thrash starting sprouting up every-which-way.

Their first album did nothing for me and didn't stand out... At least their playing has improved and the music is more refined.

Bump for new album info...
Quote :
From years of relentless touring, Los Angeles thrashers WARBRINGER have become known as one of the hardest-working bands in metal, as well as a ferocious live act — and they bring all of that raw aggression into the creation of their third album, "Worlds Torn Asunder", scheduled for a September 27 release via Century Media Records.
"Worlds Torn Asunder" was produced and mixed by Steve Evetts (SUICIDE SILENCE, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SYMPHONY X), and features artwork by Dan Seagrave, who designed WARBRINGER's previous album cover (in addition to art for bands such as ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION and MORBID ANGEL).
Commented WARBRINGER vocalist John Kevill: "The concept behind 'Worlds Torn Asunder' was the decline of our existing world at the hands of the human race. The artwork depicts the world literally being torn and we wanted to include the setting in the cosmos along with a darker 'higher' force lurking behind the shadows. We had worked with Dan Seagrave before on 'Waking Into Nightmares' and were very comfortable with the way he expressed himself. He's been the artist for many bands we love and are inspired by."
The album's first single, "Living Weapon", will be released in the coming weeks.
"Worlds Torn Asunder" track listing:
01. Living Weapon 02. Shattered Like Glass 03. Wake Up...Destroy 04. Future Ages Gone 05. Savagery 06. Treacherous Tongue 07. Echoes From The Void 08. Enemies of the State 09. Behind the Veils of Night (instrumental) 10. Demonic Ecstasy

The music here is outstanding, but the vocals gets a bit tiresome after a while. Not sure why?

The music on the new album?
Looking forward to hearing this, mainly because the new drummer is so great. Hoping they take their songwriting and playing up a few notches.

He's a bit monotomous. A banshee wail or even some maybe cleaner vocals would liven things up a bit. His delivery is the same in every song.

New article about Warbringer. They lost Carlos Cruz and John Laux.
Seems like all the truly great new thrash bands disappear or disband, and all we're left with is excess like Lost Society.
Really hope they pull through and continue with a new record. "Empires Collapse" was amazing, almost Vektor-ish.

The reality of knowing that they'll never make a dime playing this type of music is starting to settle in with this new wave of thrash. It's allot of work and money to record and tour with almost no payoff in the end.

Check out Hexen's albums. The drummer Carlos used to be in that band and they were damn good.

My favorite new thrash band, second to Vektor, that also faded into obscurity. Oh well.

I thought Warbringer was one of the best bands to come out of the mid-late 2000's Thrash Metal boom. Most of their peers fizzled out quick or drastically changed their sound because they never really aspired to be Thrash in the first place (Lazarus AD or Diamond Plate anyone?), to defy critics, label pressure, etc. I got the feeling with the last album, Warbringer too was struggling with being "just a Thrash Metal band". If they choose to call it a day, ten years and five albums is a good run.

I recently heard a song of them playing live with two different guys (one was the drummer for Vektor) during there European tour with Iced Earth and man John Laux (guitarist) and Carlos Cruz (drums) really brought something to the band both on stage and the sound. Watching and hearing the song just didn't sound right. If you look at who wrote alot of the best songs was John Laux and the new album Carlos had a big hand in writing as well.
