Polls

OK, I have to speak my mind here. I think we're going overboard with the polls now! I don't mind polls if they lead to discussion. ultmetal's '70's polls are good examples of polls that serves a purpose. But I HATE it when all I see on the main page are polls! The last time the main area was flooded with polls, we created the Fun & Games room. So please think it through before posting more polls here. Maybe it belongs in the Fun & Games section?

I tend to ignore most of'em. Especially if it's one of those "Random band/album vs. totally unrelated random other band/album" polls.

These pointless "Random A vs. Random B" polls are getting out of hand...but like Kurt said, the discussion ones with several choices are cool.

I ignore them with the exception of the 70's polls that ULT has going, and it is interesting discussion and also makes me dig up the some albums I have not spun in awhile

I've never set up a poll, never cared too much about comparing X to Z band or album.

Yup, that's why I started them. Been on a 70's kick for a few weeks now.

About time, this place was getting the heart of pointless polls.

Many in-depth discussions can be a waste of time and/or end in flame wars.

Polls allow for taking a quick pulse of the board.

FYI - I think they all belong in fun and games....

And I voted for Metallica - I have always been a bigger Metallica fan than Megadeth, but love both bands!!!!!

If we're actually gonna vote on this poll (I thought it was rhetorical sarcasm), I vote Megadeth. Dave's voice annoys the heck outta me but at least the music is pretty consistent.

Ult's polls are awesome...but they are the minority right now. There are too many pointless "my Dad (insert band) can kick your Dad's (insert band) ass" type polls going on.
