Classic Rock Tourney 2015 - 2 polls

Vote on each!!!!  

We will total up the votes and have a final four next week.  OK to change your vote before then! [no - I did not include the Beatles as they were a mostly 60's band.  Also, Rush and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and the most common bands would dominate, so left them out too.  Going with 70's second tier bands]

Rolling Stones. Another early fav of an young MetalGuy.

I would've considered Fleetwood Mac, however I'm assuming you mean the radio-friendly pop stylings of Buckingham/Nicks and not the blues of Peter Green.

I've never been more than a casual fan of any of the performers on that list so I guess I can't vote in this one.

Bad Company for me. I either don't care for, or am completely ambivalent to the rest of the bands on this list.

If you asked me this question a few years ago, I would have undoubtedly said the Doobie Brothers. Since then, I've bought all the Genesis albums and enjoy both the Gabriel fronted years, as well as the Collin fronted years. As much as I love Fleetwood Mac (w/Buckingham & Nicks), they were a very different band before they arrived in 1975. For that alone, I can't say Fleetwood Mac, because I haven't delved into that era of the band. I never really got into Free and I've only been a lukewarm fan of the Bad Company stuff. I much prefer the 60's Stones to that of the 70's, though I do enjoy that decade of the band. Even though I really appreciate The Who and the fact that they really changed their sound throughout their career, I'm once again only a lukewarm fan. Regarding Wings, I really like Wings, but I think I will have to go with:

Genesis!

I think the reason I can say this with confidence, I have all their albums from the 70's and I like most of their stuff from beginning to end.

Genesis > Doobie Brothers > Wings > Fleetwood Mac > The Who > Rolling Stones > Bad Co. > Free

That third-tier band The Stones for me.

Saw them live at Giants Stadium back on the Voodoo Lounge tour. Still the best concert I've ever seen; completely opened my eyes to what a great band they are.

VAAAAAAAAN HAAAA oh okay, fine. The Who. Actually inspired my own songwriting more than anyone else.

I'm really confused by all this tier business.

The Who would be my second pick.  

But after that the bands in this poll really tail off for me.  And Genesis?  Gack!  With Peter Gabriel they were tolerable; without him?  Forget it. I enjoy Gabriel's solo career much more than anything by Genesis; smartest move he made.

I had to go with The Who. Even if the only album they ever released was Who's Next, they'd probably win. Again, I love Genesis, but I think of them as a band that spans eras. The Who NAILED the 70s.

Casual fan at best of Gabriel fronted Genesis

Wings are okay and The Who is my least favorite on the list.

From the list I'd choose The Who with The Doobie Brothers and Genesis close behind.

Top 5 band of all time in my world. Trespass, Nursery Crime, Foxtrot, Lamb, Trick Of The Tail, ...And Then There Were Three are some of my favorite '70s albums.

Out of these options I'd pick Bad Co. But I don't want to vote for any of them, since in the other poll there's like half a dozen bands I'd pick ahead of any of these.
