| If I remember right Technical Extacy (sp?) came out in '77. But anyway--the "heaviest, hardest rocking" album to me was 'Dirty Deeds...'. IMO. But the one that probably had the greatest influence may be 'sad wings' aor 'rising' (I don't think Rainbow quite gets the credit they deserve for their influence on what became 'power metal'. | |

| Yea I agree Rainbow's 'Rising' album bascially created the template for 'power metal' | |

| I thought Technical Ecstasy was released in '77. Most sights say Oct. '76 though, so I was wrong. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Ah, Goes To Hell is a great shout. The main riff of the title track alone is worth the entire album! _________________ | |

| For most of my life I would have picked AC/DC or especially KISS's Rock n Roll Over, but chose Led Zeppelin - Presencethe last 2 years, they are the one band I grew up with, I keep returning more often to listening to the albums, and wanting to hear every live version. I think the guitar has a ripping sound on PRESENCE, and the song Achilles Last Stand still moves me a lot. But if RUSH - 2112 was listed, a 50/50 chance I would have chose that one. (Aerosmith gets honourable mention ) | |
