1976 Rocks Hard!

Been on a 70's kick for a few weeks now. Rocking lots of great 70's hard rock/heavy metal stuff. 76' was a great year and had a ton of great releases with some bands releasing more than one album. Pick the one you think is the heaviest, hardest rocking album.

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak

UFO - No Heavy Pettin'

Definitely Rock & Roll Over for me. Those are all great albums, but R&RO is something special to me.

Damn! 1976 was a pretty good year wasn't it??

I was only six years old at the time so I can't claim to have heard any of these as new releases, of course. However, I've become a fan of many of them in the years since.

KISS' ROCK & ROLL OVER gets my vote, followed by Aerosmith's ROCKS and AC/DC's HIGH VOLTAGE.

I voted for BOC. That was the first BOC album I ever heard.

I voted 'Rocks' because the album is truth in adversting, but love all those albums! I think I may pull all those albums off the shelf and give them a listen this weekend

Sad Wings of Destiny sounds the heaviest to my ears, followed by Rocks, Dirty Deeds, & Virgin Killer.

I think I have listened to almost all of those over the past two weeks.

Someone PM'd me about Black Sabbath. Sabbath didn't release an album in '76.

I'm not sure if it's just the Aero-nut in me or if it's just genuinely heavier, but "Rocks" seems like the heaviest album out of that bunch.

I voted Sad Wings. One of the best albums of all time. Dirty Deeds also rocks pretty hard, as does Aerosmith Rocks. Augh! Too much good music!

I voted for Jailbreak. Warrior, Emerald, Jailbreak, Angel From The Coast, etc.

Had to go with RNRR - KISS rules and what a GREAT album!!!!!!!!!!

Went with High Voltage 'cause I love that one but that's an awesome list.

Amazingly back in the day Thin Lizzy, KISS, and AC/DC all released two killer albums within a 12 month period, now adays its is 5 years in between releases.

I remember that and it was cool but with so many bands out i'm glad it's spread out a little more. Though some are waiting way too long.

Had to go with the Toxic Twins and Rocks. There are actually quite a few on that list that I haven't heard.

I went with Rainbow - Rising...

But Sad Wings & Destroyer are up there too...

It's hard cause trying to differentiate a favorite from heaviest is something else ! I mean really ! Considering, ALL of those lps listed are longtime favorites of mine and stuff that was part of learning how to play music with other musicians.

Rocks is heavy... but after "listening" I went with Priest

I chose "Sad Wings..." out of the above. But Rush 2112 would be my pick of hardest album 1976.

Voted for RARO. Mom and Dad gave me Rock and Roll Over for Christmas that year. I was so excited. I played side one again and again for days. Eventually, I turned the record over and freaked out over how awesome it was. Good times. I'd turn on the red light or black light, whatever we had in the bedroom at that time, play RARO loud, and pretend I was Paul Stanley in concert.

I went with Rising. Now that I finally have a copy of the album, I've been addicted. Some real gems on the album that the compilations miss. Second pick would be Sad Wings of Destiny, but I do confess I haven't given most of the albums on the list a fair chance of listening.

Surprisingly hard choice. Went with Jailbreak but there isn't a single album on that list that I don't like.

Went with Jailbreak, absolutely killer stuff on there IMO.

Boston's debut came out in 76 too, didn't it?
