| It would be a shame if future generations were denied the archival recordings of Justin Bieber. Seriously though, no archival system is perfect and now it looks like the "perfect" digital format is just as delicate and unpredictable as analog tape or film. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Yeah, that'd be tragic huh? - Quote :

Nothing lasts forever. I saw a documentary on PBS a while back about the problems Hollywood is having with storage of early films. Lots of stuff from the so called "golden age" of movie making (i.e. the '30s, 40s and into the '50s) is long gone because the films were either improperly stored or have simply been lost. Think of all the albums/singles that have been produced over the years by multitudes of labels/companies, how much of that stuff is still readily accessible, or will be readily accessible years from now?? _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
