Show went off without a hitch last night. This club has a great stage,
sound system, lights, etc. On stage we tore it up and I was having a
blast rockin' and praisin'. The handful of people that actually stood
in front of the stage while we played were great. The remainder of the
people all watched sitting at tables a far off.
The opening band (Devil Riding Shotgun) was great, old school dooooom
metal similar to Place of Skulls or Pentagram. Talked to the guitarist
after the show and found out he's a huge fan of Victor Griffin and also
Wino. Trog would have been grinning from ear to ear. Unfortunately only
one person stood in front of the stage to watch them.
We went up second and brought down the house IMO. We were just on fire.
We blazed through a set of mostly new songs off "Into the Pit". We only
had a 40 minute set, so we had to cut down our usual set time. Robert
tore it up! He was the lone guitarist on stage with us last night and
he played every solo.
The third band (Frostbite) on was mix of nu-metal and rapcore. I made
it through about 3 songs before I left. Not my thing at all. Their
singer couldn't seem to get a sentence out without using the same
expletive over and over again. To me that just sounds juvenile and
unintelligent.
