Well this band flew under my radar and just recently came across them and whoa kick butt. Fans of early Sonata Arctica will love Sunrise. They hail from the Ukraine. I'm sure some will like them here. Their cds are hard to find luckily I found them both.
Check them out here: http://www.myspace.com/sunrisekiev

Lot's of SA influence there. Is the rest of their stuff like this?

Very nice! Definitely sounds like Silence-era SA, just a little slower. I must aquire ASAP, I am a sucker for good power metal.

Yes it is although "Liberty" their first is vocally not as strong as their latest effort but still are both good.

I've had them on my "want" list for quite some time, just can't find a copy for a decent price.

Those interested in a Sunrise cd you can buy it now for $11.99 for Liberty & $21 for Trust Your soul and I will say his service is fast from Russia.
"Trust Your Soul" being not available is all band's own fault! They had a preliminary agreement with a certain label, but then flaked off to an Italian label, which undoubtedly offered them the stars, but forgot to tell the only distribution they have is on the local Italian market... So yeah, everyone interested in this album now have to fork $20+...
Which is a shame coz "Trust Your Soul" is quite good album. "Liberty" on the other hand is easy to obtain but not nearly as good as TYS.
P.S. I do have 3 copies of Liberty left in stock. In the wake of the X-mas spirit I can offer them at $9 post-paid USA&Canada / $12 Worldwide to first 3 people to PM me. /end of shameless plug/

That is true, but they are following in SA's footsteps and Mikko Harkin's keys were way up front on Silence so they are just doing what they were influenced to do.
