The racist lyrics are absolutely retarded, but I just can't help loving this band. Death metal perfection if you ask me.

I like the pace, and the more mid-range vocals.

I'm with you on that. Their debut is awesome, and the lyrics aren't as bad on that one either. The rest of their catalog I can do without.

I love everything they ever did. It's such a bummer they're a bunch of dumbass racists (like how Arghoslent's guitar player once told Funeral Circle's half-Persian guitarist that he didn't like Persians, because "they steal all our women and universities." ).

Okay, so I figured I'd post this here, rather than creating a whole new topic that would only get like 10 hits and something like 2 responses. lol
So, I found out one of my customers plays in this band, Colonize the Rotting. They are brutal death metal from San Jose, CA. They are really cool guys. Check them out and tell me what you think. Obviously, if brutal death metal isn't your thing, they aren't going to change your mind. But, I think they are awesome!

Right on! I'm glad you like it. Yeah, they gave me their first CD. It has 6 songs, but it clocks in at 35 minutes. It's excellent!

Brutal death metal is something I have to be in the mood for so I don't listen to it much nor do I have much in my colletion. The problem for me is the music tends to get monotonose (sic?) sometimes. These guys have a little something extra that stands out for me but I can't say what it is. While I am not a fan of the blood and guts imagery or lyrical content (the latter doesn't matter much because it doesn't even sound like their using real words-I know they are but I can't understand them), I quite like thier sound.

I have always liked some classic (non brutal death) death metal. Particularly the American and Swedish schools (though Finnish would be third)...some of my favourites:
Monstrosity (Imperial Doom is a total classic) Massacre Morpheus Descends Death (of course) Insanity Brutality (their first record is a great, dark, technical death metal album) Atheist (wonderful stuff) Morbid Angel (awesome all the way!)
From Sweden:
Entombed Dismember Gorement Grave Unleashed early Tiamat Utumno Seance Interment
