| So I thought their debut was decent. A little annoying in the vocal department (because the boy sounded like a chick), but it showed promise. That was then...and this is now. - Quote :
- "[The producers] really pushed us," BLACK TIDE singer Gabriel Garcia, 17, told SoundSpike. "That was the best thing. Especially Josh. He was there recording all the demos during the songwriting process. We wrote 42 songs for this record. The sound changed completely, so we really found our sound with Josh. He saw it all come together and he was pushing us the whole time, the whole way."

I don't like the sound of that. I really liked the debut. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Yeah, the debut was a solid start IMO. This "sound changed completely" idea doesn't fill me with hope. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Young kids will alter their sound completely if the producer and label suggests it. | |

Exactly. They don't have a clue as to what they're doing, so the producer or label is gonna push them to a more mainstream, radio-friendly (ie profitable) sound. Look at all the hair bands from the 80's that had debuts that were hard rock classics, then subsequent releases had all the grit and sleaze polished off with slick (over)production. Let's hope that doesn't happen. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | All the producers care about when it comes to young bands like these is to make the record company money, once they don't they get rid of them.

Wargod51 That's pretty much been the mainstream music industry for 40 years... _________________ FINAL SIGN

| Looks like our worst fears about Black Tide might be comming true. The debut gave me hope for the youth in this country among all the High School Musical and Camp Rock bullshite out there. Hopefully, it's not as bad as it sounds. | |

| About a year ago a friend gave me their first cd presuming I would like it. Honestly I found it to be pretty mediocre and from the looks of things they've only gotten worse. But at least I was able to sell it for 4 bucks. | |

| You guys sure are making a lot of assumptions from a generic comment like, "The sound changed completely". Maybe it changed for the better. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

I liked their debut alot and was happy these kids parents listened to Metallica, Slayer and other school thrash bands then say Hanson, and by coincidence I purchased at the mall for $4. I will give the new album a chance and see if they really changed direction. | |

That lead singer looks like somebody from the 80s new wave band trend, maybe Flock Of Seagulls, Human League or Frankie Goes To Hollywood, etc. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I think the fact that they're touring with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine about sums it up. | |
