Looking to go to a music festival called Soundwave next Feb. Maiden are headlining, and there's a heap of metalcore bands also playing. I accept that metalcore is a part of metal -it's just not my sort of metal, so I'll stick to the thrash, death and classic metal bands in order to see Maiden play in my home city for the first time in 25 years!

Well it could be worse we could be split by imaginary lines and need passports to listen to other styles of metal, let's just be happy that in our own reality there is, as said above, Good metal and bad metal...

and to answer the question about this statement... "Either way I am saying there is a fine line between metal... and metal? hmm"

It was just suppose to be just silly about how there are so many styles but they are all based in metal... so metal and... metal? :^)

I'll go with both Lemmy's definition and the fact that its all good metal or bad metal.

It's probably more productive to give band name examples when talking about what kind of metal you like. Anyone who knows metal can get what you are trying to say. But then again I would still use words like thrash or doom when talking about what I like. Depends on who I am talking to.
