| I know I already posted about this in the "good stuff you've probably never heard" thread. But this album is so good, it deserves a thread of it's own! Triosphere is a Norwegian band, that started when a couple of members from Griffin broke out, and started a new band. Their debut album, named "Onwards" passed relativeliy unnoticed by in 2006. All the while I loved "Onwards", and I even got to see the band live touring for it, I just knew the band could do even bettr. And now they have! Ladies and gentle men, I give you: Wow, what an improvement! Everything is just better on this record. This is how heavy metal should sound in 2010! Intelligently written, flawless playing, and convincing delivery! Triosphere are not riding on a trend, not trying to fit in, they are just playing powerful, slightly progressive metal. Check out "Death Of Jane doe" on their MySpace site, and be blown away! http://www.myspace.com/triosphere _________________ | |

| Cool, that's good stuff. Have to put that on the to get list. Vocalist has more of a Leather Leone type voice for a female. |

| Loving the vocals but I love everything that's in that umbrella...rough or muscular female vocals, Leather Leone, Sister Federica, Elisa Martin, etc. Production and general tones don't leave the band much in the realm of an individual sound, unfortunately. Lots of spirit though. I could probably get into it some more, but they only have these samples...can't flesh the songs out quite enough. I'll probably search on YouTube. | |

| I actually had to review this for Powerplay Magazine back in May (I think), and I thought it was a great album (for anyone interested, I also uplodaed the review here). Ida Haukland's got some impressive pipes on her and the music is just all around very enjoyable. It's a tad samey as an album, but it's definitely worth a look if you want some power metal with a bit of balls behind it. _________________ | |

And she plays bass, which makes her even cooler.

DO. WANT. Ack, I was given a couple of free copies of this CD but I gave the other one to a friend who didn't know the band. If I'd known you were interested, I'd have kept it back for you. And yes, I realise this is essentially a worthless post ;P _________________
