Very well deserved! I lost interest in the 80s, but there 70s output alone should have earned them this!

Any thoughts on Heart's Desire Walks On album from '93? I saw it in a pile of CDs at my local thrift shop yesterday and I'm wondering if it's worth throwing a buck at it.

This link is to a screen that has the entire album selections to the right. As each tune plays, it shows the album cover. It spend a buck on it.
I just listened to this song and the title track

The cover of "Ring Them Bells" w/ Layne Stayley alone is worth that and more. The rest of the album is decent to good...Ann sounds awesome on it.

I got it playing in the background (from YouTube) and Ann just wails on it.

Thanx for the tips, fellas, guess I'll give it a whirl. I was just leery cuz I've gotten burned on the last few CDs I've picked up @ that thrift store. Yesterday's purchase - Superhuman by someone called "Cinder Road" - was underwhelming to say the least. I should've just picked up the Heart disc.
James B. - this reminds me, I still need to send you that sympho-black mettle thingy that I promised you, which I bought at that thrift store last time I was in there.

HEART is chick-rock done right. They definately had that Janis Joplin influence too, which isn't so bad. And yes Dreamboat Annie rocks.

Desire Walks On happens to be my favorite Heart album, it's a cruncher with some heavy numbers. Never like their 80s catalog, it all seemed so forced and rushed, even with all the spit n polish. 70s work was great but I think one should always go into early Heart knowing that they were modeled directly from Zep. That means a lot of acoustic numbers, but they're focused songs and still have teeth. Yeah, they had filler, but so what. I bust the mains wide open when Dreamboat is on the turntable. Massive.

Over the years the acoustic songs are the ones I enjoy the most...that actually applies to both Heart and Led Zeppelin.

Agree. Not sure when the paradigm shift took place, but it's really all I listen to anymore.

I definitely agree as it pertains to Led Zeppelin. When I want to hear something from them, I go right to "Tangerine", "The Rain Song", "Ten Years Gone", and without a doubt "That's The Way" (an absolutely beautiful song)...

Yeah I used to be different, especially as a kid hating anything that didn't have distortion. I really don't know why, it's not like I've mellowed out--hell, I'm listening to Morbid Angel right now with no intentions to change it .
