Yessssssss. Great great stuff. I'm gonna go out
on a limb here and venture to guess you aren't familiar with the later
portion of his catalog (this is sarcasm because MCM is the wayyyyyyyy
most well known one he has), but if you aren't, check it out! I felt
like a few after his debut kind of sagged, but on 'Voyageur', 'A
Posteriori', and 'Seven Lives, Many Faces' the writing is equally as
good, and he goes in a lot of different directions as well, throwing in
some dance-pop, progressive rock, more classical stuff here and there,
more female vocals..amazing and impossible to classify stuff, really.
For example the whole 'A Posteriori' record is this amazing slab of..
dark-electro-lounge? Check one or all three of those out.. Maybe 'Seven
Lives..' first to get back into the swing of things as it's the most
like the debut.


...........I'm sort of a big Enigma fan.

Wow, I guess you're a bigger fan than me! I love this genre though.

I love the first two Enigma albums. They are both gold to me.

Then with their third one, they kinda lost me I guess. I still liked it, but it was so/so. I guess that's why I never picked up anything thereafter.

But based on your recommend, I'll pursue those albums.




Since you like Enigma, are you also a fan of Dead Can Dance? Very different sounding band, but usually fans are fans of both for some reason I've noticed.

yeah, I like me some Dead Can Dance, but haven't gotten around to collecting them yet.

I think you would like the ones I mentioned at least some as much as I do. A lot of his fanbase is weird because they obsess over his old sound and don't realize what he's doing now is just as intelligent if not moreso, and how successful he is in making electronic music of all different types, all they want to hear is a mishmash of how the first album sounds....but if you go in without bias and liking the variety of electronic stuff that I know you do, I guarantee you'll dig it...

Ult and Spectre are their leaders. So always make sure to throw some thrash in your 'playlist' just to be on the safe side of things!!!

Hah! I am not a real big thrasher at all. SO I wouldn't be able to really throw any thrash in to my list.

However I found the Eternal Glory demo from Rhapsody and I don't know how power metal others think they are, but I think they are bloody epic. I love this demo!

At the moment listening to Europe - Europe, great album by these Swedish rockers. Great songs, great guitarplaying and the most "metal" album by Joey and co.
