Hmmm... that's a tough 'un. I'd say AtG is number three, together with The Spectre Within. Number two can be any of the three Pagan Altar albums, haha.

Have to disagree with you there. No Exit is a great album, but not their best imo. I'd rank 'em like this:

1. Awaken the Guardian

4. Perfect Symmetry
5. No Exit
6. A Pleasant Shade of Grey
7. Inside Out
8. Night On Brocken
9. FWX
10. Disconnected

I love 'em all though.

I must be the only one who thinks 'Perfect Symmetry' is a huge misstep. Most of the music on there is just dull....the band sounds tired...the progressive ethos isn't as effective and well-applied as on 'No Exit' and even 'Pleasant Shade..'. I like some songs.. 'Chasing Time'..a couple of others...but I just never go back to this record. Ray sounds tired too. Blech.

I would put 'Spectre' and 'Parallels' evenly.
