| And my blood is my own now
Don't care where the past was
I know where I'm going ... out
I'm not a number I'm a free man
I'll live my life how I want to
You'd better scratch me from your black book
Cos I'll run rings round you! |

| Iron Maiden - The Prisoner (Number of The Beast 1982) The Prisoner [Steve Harris and Adrian Smith]
I'm on the run, I kill to eat I'm starving now, feeling dead on my feet Going all the way, I'm natures beast Do what I want and do as I please
Run - Fight - To breathe - It's tough Now you see me now you don't Break the walls I'm coming out
Not a prisoner I'm a free man And my blood is my own now Don't care where the past was I know where I'm going ...out!
If you kill me it's self defense And if I kill ya' then I call it vengeance Spit in your eye I will defy You'll be afraid when I call out your name
Run - Fight - To breathe - It's gonna be tough Now you see me now you don't Break the walls I'm coming out
Not a prisoner I'm a free man And my blood is my own now Don't care where the past was I know where I'm going
I'm not a number I'm a free man Live my life where I want to You'd better scratch me from your black book Cause' I'll run rings around you

Hallowed Be Thy Name and Children of the Damned own it. The Prisoner is third, though.

| I've never cared for this song. The intro doesn't really fit and the chorus is cheesy IMHO. | |

| It amazes me when someone digs out these old threads. Now, of course, I must crank The Prisoner and bounce around my office for 5 minutes instead of working. Thanks alot DB!! |

I must be the only Maiden fan that actually likes X-Factor especially over Virtual XI. But hey, I guess I'm just too easy to please.

I just don't like Blaze's voice and I think he was the wrong singer for Maiden - both X and XI have some good songs on them. I would much rather listen to the versions of Clansman, Sign Of The Cross, Futureal and lord of the flies with Bruce singing (and I usually do when I want to hear those songs). I tried to give X another chance last week and I couldn't get past Blaze's voice on the songs. I also don't like the rpoduction on those 2 albums, it sounds very weak to me

I understand completly. I didn't like Blaze's voice in Maiden either and would love to hear X Factor and Virtual IX re-done with Bruce kind of like Anthrax did when they had John Bush do some of the Joey era songs.

Actually Fozzy wrote it, but Iron Maiden bought it while Fozzy was imprisoned in Japan. When they escaped they recorded their own version. Get your facts straight! |
