Although the Toho Vault contains a lot of power metal, I pretty much gave up that addiction several years ago. But there are still some power metal records I enjoy, like Keldian, Kotipelto and early Sonata Arctica.

I have very few power-metal cds, they just seem to cost so much more than cheapy ones I've managed to collect.

Ive come to the realization that I dont like this genra, Just aint my cup of tea but more power to those who love it. Diff Strokes for Diff Folks

Ahh well, at least the music is pretty good. Delirium Veil is a great album.

Definitely their best one. I have Plague House Puppet Show (see what I mean about lyrics?) and Swinelord and don't like either one.

Are they totally different from Delirium Veil, i've read that they went into a more hard rock style.

I find them to be more prog/power than straight power metal and I'm really picky about prog.

I like a lot of power metal, especially the classic American power metal bands like Vicious Rumors, Metal Church, Meliah Rage, etc. This was real power metal that rode a fence between thrash and traditional heavy metal. I think Iced Earth fits neatly in this category as well. Also some of the classic German bands like Grave Digger, Running Wild, Rage, etc.

I like some of the newer bands as well. Brainstorm come to mind immediately.

What are everyone's favorite power metal bands?

Im kinda like Ult.I tend to like the older Power Metal bands like Fates Warning,Vicious Rumors etc.Im not much on alot of keyboard drinched flowery stuff.
I do like bands like Symphorce,Firewind and such.One of the newer bands that I really dig is Theocracy.

Sonata Arctica are probably my favourite but I like bands like Primal Fear, Firewind, Hibria, Saint Deamon, Stratovarius, Thunderstone and Vision Divine as well though.

People also call speed metal "thrash" which it's not.

I love power metal, it's just that I don't like the majority of European power metal bands. Some favorites include early Fates Warning, Manilla Road, early Manowar, Heir Apparent, Virgin Steele, Titan Force etc. etc.
