COLLECTOR'S CORNER: Recently Acquired Movies [2010]

Ive been filling in the TV show dvd's recently. I have just recently acquired the Mr. Show dvds and the Arrested Development season dvd's. As movies go I just picked up "Gangster No. 1", "American Beauty", "The Devil And Daniel Johnston", and the "Complex Rock Tour Live (Blue Man Group)"

Halloween may be over, but it's still Schlock-Tober at Fat Freddy's house. Picked these two up for $3.99 a pop tonite at the local Rite Aid...


(Haven't seen "First Blood" in years, and have never seen this version of "The Punisher" at all)

(Stranded Motorists vs. a family of cannibal rednecks? Hmmm, what an original plot. Where have I heard of that before?)

Nothing too axciting: Gladiator, Batman & Batman Returns on Blu-ray

Walmart had several two pack blu-rays for ten bucks. Glad I held out on picking them up individually.

Yeah, yeah, I know, "Remakes suck!" -- but I've never seen this one (I haven't seen the original in years either) and it was only 3.99 for cryin' out loud.

I liked Assault On Precinct 13, though i've never seen the original.

Wonderland on blu-ray
A replacement vhs copy (please somebody put this out on digital) for one of my favorite video store gems of all-time - Under The Boardwalk. I hadn't watched it in years but still can recite every line. It's also funny/sad how much I still use lines from it today.

I recently got The Being on DVD. Pretty obscure and hadn't discovered it until about a year ago. Snagged it for $11.00 bucks.

Toho, you've seen some of the craptactulars that I post about. You think a couple of bad reviews are gonna scare me??

It's got a 6 out of 10 rating on IMDb at the moment, which is higher than the last couple of things I picked up (i.e. "Evil Breed" and "The Butcher")... for whatever that's worth.... besides, one of my friends saw it and said he dug it, and he and I share the same taste in B-cinema, so I figured it was worth a $4 gamble.

Got talked into going to Walmart at midnight for black friday. I was expecting the worst. It actually wasn't so bad. Crowded but people were civilized. 5 dollar blu-rays were the target. Luckily not many were going for those.

Yes it is, after the original Lost Boys came The Lost Boys "the tribe" which was released in 2008, and now in 2010 comes "the Thirst", pity they didn't get the sequels made in the late 80's early 90's.

Season 4 of Night Court: This was only released on Warner Brother's official website and not remastered, only copied from tape. Also at full price, no sale. The WB website no longer has it but I was able to find a website that had copies of it. Instead of being able to get it from Amazon or a retail outlet where I would spend $30-35 on it, it cost me over $40. Guess it's just like what was being discussed elsewhere here, if you willing to pay for it...
