So it's Number of the Beast? How about any other Maiden album? Powerslave anyone?

I have 'Powerslave' and like it less than 'Number'. What is the big deal..? yeah, title track..'Aces High'..'Rime'....'2 Minutes' though I think that's kind of weak for a popular Maiden song....everything else? eh. Not so with 'Seventh Son'. Anyway.

I have no KISS, no Slayer..

good call on 'Animals'. Between that album, Camel - The Snow Goose, and the early Edge of Sanity albums, you have Opeth's career. Have you ever noticed the similarities between the organ section in 'Pigs (Three Different Ones)' and 'Dominoes' by Syd Barrett?

True but the music still sucks.

I'm far from an Axl Rose fan (I've described his vocals as a cat with its tail in a toaster) but for my money there's no denying that the songs on Appetite are simply well-written hard rock songs.
