| Of my many geekly pursuits, this is the progress on one of them. I'm intimidated making things, I'm not very handy, so this has taken be about 12 years to get this far. Most of those 12 years I didn't do anything, just frozen with fear, but I plan on finishing in 2012! There's a lot more to work on by way of trees, plants, buildings, etc...but what I do have depicts a couple things about me. I grew up in a trailer park, so I had to have one of those, and I love baseball so I decided to make a minor league ball park. | |

| That's AWESOME! Bet that was fun (and probably a tad frustrating but worth it). I had a much less complex set when I was younger, but really enjoyed it. |

| That is great, Scott. I used to do train sets with my grandfather when I was young. Type of thing brings back a lot of great memories. Love that you included the personal stuff too. Make sure to post a video of it when it's finished. | |

Me as well, but I try anyway with easier stuff(like building turntable plinths).

| I'm not too bad at building things. Even when I was a kid, I almost never looked at the manuals when putting together G.I. Joe vehicles or Lego contraptions. I could never, however do anything that intensive. | |

| Here's a project I finally finished. This is a Pioneer SX-450 Receiver that was given to me about a month ago. All but one light was burnt out and it had a crappy vinyl veneer wood grain on it. I forgot to do a before picture. Here's one off of the interwebs: I replaced all the bulbs, stripped the venner off and repainted it with texutred black spray paint and also replaced the side panels with two pine pieces that I had laying around(stained those). I'm not completely happy with the side panels, but it will do, for now. If the Boys can clean a place off for it, it will go in their room. I was also given a Pioneer Turntable, Cassette deck and I bought some Yamaha bookshelf speakers for cheap off of craigslist for it. It's good to go! | |

| Family had a little circular trip last week to take care of a little business and have a little fun. San Antonio is one of our favorite cities. While momma was at a conference, me and the spazzes explored the River Walk, and had some fun at the Guiness World Record Museum. Sea World fun times. Karen became a US Citizen. The process was long and annoying at times, but the ceremony was pretty cool. Lee Greenwood has to be making mega-royalties from the Naturalization and Immigration people, because his is the theme song to the whole thing. | |

| Yeah, one of the girls was supposed to wear that backpack, but it was too heavy so I looked stylish all day lugging it around.
Yes, they really do play the Lee Greenwood song to a video. It's actually pretty cool and moving how they match it up with scenes of new citizens from every imaginable country.
