yea, they have only been around for a few years though.

I saw someone run over a wild turkey on my way to work a couple of years ago (they're quite common in this area)... it was like POW! and an explosion of feathers... looked like he'd run into a feather pillow

Then some time ago, a turkey strutted up to the front of our office building and pecked at his own reflection in the mirrored glass for over an hour.

We saw a seagull take a hit a coupla weeks ago, heading to the shore. Saw him swoop down to grab something off the road, then *POOF* same thing, explosion of feathers. Judging by the way the car was swerving, it must've scared the crap outta the driver. Can't say I blame 'em.

I noticed a hummingbird buzzing around my suet feeder on the deck so I hung a hummingbird feeder yesterday.



Not only have I been enjoying "hummingbird wars" as 2 hummers fight over the feeder, one of my favorite avian visitors has figured out that he can get something out of it too. Mr. Downy Woodpecker was at the "hummingbird" feeder for about 2 minutes, repeatedly sticking his beak in there and then "smacking his 'lips'".

I had one of my pest control customers call me the other day thinking he had a termite problem at his log home, but no, woodpeckers were tearing the crap out of his railing on the deck.

Took a little trip up to Strawberry, Arizona today with the fam. Went to a little restaurant up there and the festival they were having. Tiny little bitty town. Pretty though. Got a pic with me in my new Depeche Mode Tshirt. Heheheh.
