| Saxon's Rock The Nations? I've always liked this album when I had the cassette in my youth. And listening to the CD I just bought of it, I still do! Maybe I'm being nostalgic, because it was the first metal album I bought on my own, and not just borrowed from my brothers. But this is a catchy hard rock album, with some great tunes! _________________ | |

| Uhhh, Party til You Puke? The overall album is just so generic sounding, in comparison to the band's catalog up to that point. I don't think it's a BAD album, just not one of their better discs. Of the more melodic albums, I far prefer Innocence is No Excuse, Crusader, Power & the Glory, or even their attempt to sound like Def Leppard's Hysteria Destiny. Something just doesn't jive with much of "Rock the Nations" IMO.

| I had Saxon's "Rock the Nations" when I was in high school. It was okay, nothing great. I just liked the song "Northen Lady" to be honest. I later traded RTN for Venom's "Welcome to Hell". I think I came out pretty good on that deal. | |

| One album I like that people don't seem to care about is Accept - Russian Roulette. Exodus - Impact is Imminent isn't such a bad album, either. | |

I know, that's blasphemy to some of you, but I really like it just fine. I like that album, but it's definitely their worst. At least while admittedly selling out they didn't completely suck. "Fight For The Rock," "The Edge Of Midnight," "Hyde," "Lady In Disguise," all great songs. The rest are good, except "Day After Day," which I think is their worst song ever. Total crap, that one. |

Maybe I'm being nostalgic, because it was the first metal album I bought on my own, and not just borrowed from my brothers. But this is a catchy hard rock album, with some great tunes! I remember when it came out, I was sorta hoping for more of return to the Strong Arm/Wheels/Power Glory type stuff.... They lost me a bit after Innocence.... I felt they were trying to be more commercial and that was not where I was at musically. I wanted heavier edgier stuff.... at the time Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, were what I was listening to. I even turned a deaf ear to Maidens '7th Son' a bit, because I wanted grinding guitars with crunch... I honestly haven't heard 'rock the nations' in a million years. I saw 'em on the 'Destiny' tour (another attempt at commercial success), but ironically I saw 'em on the last night of that tour in Oakland Calif with about 600 people.... It was one of the best shows I've ever seen.... They played 'Ride Like the Wind' but everything else was the classics Wheel of Steel Motorcycle Man Dallas 1pm This town Rocks Power and the Glory Denim & Leather Princess 20,000 Feet Heavy Metal thunder (faster than Megadeth when it came out according to biff) and about 10 more you get the picture.... it was amazing..... I would be willing to give 'rock the nations' another try though.... older and wiser....

I think it's a great cover of the classic BADFINGER song (so they didn't actually write it). Jon's vocals just come across as really passionate to me in a very emotional song - especially listening to it now in light of the loss of his brother which would happen 8 years after that album came out...But I've always loved that song anyway, so hearing one of my favorite classic metal bands doing it was a plus.
