Okay, so I'm either out of the loop, or this damn album got no promotion whatsoever! Did anyone know they had a new album out? I had no frickin' idea until I saw it sitting in the rack tonight. I knew it was coming at some point. But already released? I had no clue.
Sounds pretty good to me so far, though you can tell their studio budget was probably close to nonexistent.

I knew they were opening for/playing with DiAnno but had no idea they had a new CD out either. Good band, tho. Will have to keep a look out for the CD.
Are they still on Magick/Cleopatra Records? For that matter, does that label even still exist?

Which probably explains the lack of promotion.

I never heard anything from these guys other than their first ep they put out with the Alice Coopr cover. I thought it was decent enough, but nothing that rattled my boots. How's their other material? Worth picking up?

Well, if you didn't care for the EP I can't imagine you'd care for anything else.

It's not that I didn't care for it per say. I just wasn't blown away. But is it fair to judge a band by 2 or 3 songs and a cover?

The EP was the best thing they have done, from what I have heard.

Looks like they got a new singer...
Quote :
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based melodic metallers ICARUS WITCH have parted ways with vocalist Matthew Bizilia and have replaced him with Christopher Shaner.
Commented the band in a statement: "Matthew's contributions to the band have been immeasurable over the past six years.
"While this was a serious decision for both parties, professional differences of opinion led to the change.
"Bizilia is a phenomenal talent who will always be a part of the WITCH family as we wish him much success on his future ventures."
Incoming vocalist and Erie, Pennsylvania native Shaner is a longtime friend and collaborator of guitarist Quinn Lukas. Before Quinn moved to Pittsburgh to join ICARUS WITCH in 2006, he had worked on various musical projects with the singer. Much like the recent acquisition of second guitarist Ed Skero, the choice to add Christopher to the band was based on a combination of what he brings to the lineup personally, musically and professionally. His powerful vocal range, sense of harmony and intense work ethic are a perfect fit for the next phase of this band.
Writing for the follow-up to "Draw Down The Moon" has already commenced with the new recruits and it promises to be the band's most diverse, melodic and epic release ever.
ICARUS WITCH's new lineup will make its live debut at Pittsburgh's Hard Rock Cafe on Friday, May 28, where the band will be opening for LIZZY BORDEN.
