currently it's overcast. I am really hoping it rains.

out of my personal experience? San Diego, California. I try to go there as much as possible. The beaches are awesome there. Way better than L.A.

Yes, lived in San Diego and Monterrey as a kid, been to LA, SF, Yosemite (both north and south parts). Been all over the state.
