So, how much do you think an entire discography of Saxon would cost? "cost" should not be part of the equation when speaking of necessities....
But, seriously - there is a 3cd box that covers the first decade [including some rarities!] and it is pretty cheap: [url=http://www.amazon.com/Very-Best-Saxon/dp/B000MTOPAA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1265124328&sr=1-4 http://www.amazon.com/Very-Best-Saxon/dp/B000MTOPAA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1265124328&sr=1-4[/quote[/url]] Absolute necessity I would expect nothing less from you. Thanks for the link, much appreciated

| With my recent additions, I'm now up to 16 Saxon studio albums (+ Heavy Metal Thunder, and an odds-and-sods compilation called 'Beast of Rock'), so I'm only missing the debut and the three "commercial era" albums, ie. '85-'88.
I've really been on a Saxon kick lately and have been going through their catalogue. I have to say I love the band, I love the sound and I love the attitude!

| New versions of old Saxon on the way... - Quote :
- Saxon have unveiled details of an album containing alternate takes of some of their classic songs.
The 14-track record features orchestral, acoustic and re-recorded versions. It’s entitled Unplugged And Strung Up, and appears in stores on November 18. The band say: “We re-evaluated, re-worked and re-energised the likes of The Eagle Has Landed and Crusader by introducing orchestral dynamics to offer added dimension. “Frozen Rainbow, from our 1979 debut, gets a stunning acoustic reprisal which transports it into a power ballad to be proud of; while Red Star Falling soars and sweeps through emotions with its orchestrally-arranged dovetail.” A digipak version of Unplugged And Strung Up will also include 2002 album Heavy Metal Thunder, which featured 13 re-recordings.

Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
