| ...so we got a chance to hang out for a well towards the end of last year and we have the same passion of hitting all the record stores. Well I was spending most of my time looking at CD's and occassionally Albums but not too often. So Scott was really focused on the vinyl, so I spent some time there and found a couple cool things as well! So fast forward and I wanted a record player for Christmas! I got one of those new USB ones and just got it hooked up! Works great to transfer records over to CD. So then I went on my first real record hunt last weekend and found the following deals... 1. Y & T - Mean Streak $2 2. TNT - Intuition $2 3. Striker - Striker $1 All were sealed and brand new! I had never heard of the Striker album but the owner even had it in a vinyl bag with an ad about it from a 1978 newspaper stating they were the next best thing since Boston and Starz. So I picked it up! Point of my story.... Thanks Scott for I now have rekindled my passion to get out there and find some classic vinyl! And now I have a way to play and record it too! | |

| I have that Y&T on vinyl as well, but I did not pay two bucks for it. I remember in the late 70's and early 80's that when records jumped from $7.99 to $9.99+ I was flabbergasted. | |

| I've always wondered, but can you just play records on them through your computer speakers? I assume they do, but people only seem to advertise them as something to get all your old vinyl onto your iPod or MP3. | |

| Yes, it functions as a normal record player. |

It probaby works better then my JVC turntable into a preamp with the RCAA equaliztion for vinyl to my soundcard. Probably easier anyway!

Why you selling yours, Spec? Didn't like it or just no use for it? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I've used it for what I needed to use it for. Now, I want to pass it on to someone who wants one to keep. |

Nice story, Ult is one person I'd really like to meet someday. His site is responsible for rekindling my love of thrash several years ago.

I'm tempted as well - how does it sound? I've been considering getting one of those for tracking vinyl to PC. The process I've been using is somewhat clunky... Is it one of those iUSB models?

| Vinyl's awesome. It's too bad I only have my crappy USB player in my apartment, while my good turntable is at my parent's. Oh well. Nothing beats an LP. | |

| Vinyl is king........... put an lp on a decent system... add some volume and you get a sound that is so much warmer and real than any cd can reproduce. kinda/sorta comparing tube amps and solid state _________________ | |
