What is facebook?

It's like a MySpace kinda thing isn't it? I have heard of it but never checked it out. I despise MySpace too, by the way.

It's a social networking website based around colleges/universities and workplaces. Generally a lot better than Myspace.

Plenty of folks are still in college at 23. Doogie Howser was 19 or something when he graduated college, but that was a T.V. show. The average traditional college student spends five years earning this first degree.

It's way better than MySpace. It's just another visual e-mail site, but there's nothing that allows people to code their own pages. Much better.

um yeah, i know that. i went to college myself. i'm just well past that age now & not interested in Facebook.

Actually, alot of people on facebook are in their 30's, in fact most of the people I am connected to are in their 30's. It's a pretty cool site - I like it much better than facebook. The biggest thing I noticed is that it seems Gen X is more likely to use facebook than the previous generations.

If enough people on HoM are on facebook, I'll create a HoM fan group.

Facebook isn't age specific. Neither are cartoons, going to amusement parks, metal music, or anything else that you are supposed to "grow out of".

Hey now - seen a few jokes going around about kids shows among my friends that have young children - one of my firends posted a haloween pic of him as a pirate and someone else posted "you look like capt feathersword!"

Facebook has been around longer than MySpace, right? Mc666 is on Last.fm, which is like Facebook with music. So shoosh! Haha.

Facebook is literally just e-mail. All these "social networking" sites are. There's just more little gadgets and widgets, but people only talk through the sites. It's the new e-mail. Not bad. Not necessary.

i'm on myspace too. i was just being silly.

My wife recently got addicted, uh I mean, signed up to Facebook. I still have no interest in socializing. I'm a miserable old crank.

Facebook is cool until old friends tag you in photos from high school and an announcement shows up on your page, so everyone can stare and laugh. Like so...





When the hell did Christina Ricci steal my forehead? It looks huge! Haha. By the way, that's something on the photo or my friend's scanner. It's not on my lip.

I totally agree Eyesore. It's one of the reasons I got rid of MySpace. When my buddy asked me what facebook was, I told him it's like having e-mail with photos.
