I only own Vision Thing. Which I love and still play often. I'm always on the look-out for others though. Didn't a lot of their stuff get the remaster/deluxe treatment?

I don't think Gothic Metal would be what it is now without the Sisters of Mercy.

The Sister's album to own IMO is their "best of", A Slight Case Of Overbombing.
I had heard "This Corrosion" before and liked it. Then I ran across this CD in the used bins and promptly picked it up. I love every track on the Overbombing disc.
I bought some other Sisters discs and was somewhat disappointed in them; they seemed to contain a lot of filler in between the great cuts.
For a newbie to Sisters Of Mercy, I'd say all you need is "A Slight Case Of Overbombing".

My big album is 'Floodland'..nice and dark, super cool, and integrates a lot of stuff that would influence other 'goth rock', metal, and even EBM like VNV Nation. While, of course, standing on it's own and not needing to be approached as 'teh ultimate goth album' or anything like that. Inspired, unique, distinctly 80's but yet great, music. I have the remaster which unfortunately I believe is only available as an import. It's a Rhino remaster so it's a digi but a well-done one. Great sound and bonus tracks, the 'Never Land' full track is amazing. I enjoy 'Vision Thing' a lot, some of it has got that Cult sound that the Cult stopped doing by that time, and I always like that. 'I want more!'. Oddly enough, I don't have 'First And Last And Always' yet, despite being a fan of both the Sisters and The Mission (see thread). But that shall soon change.

I'm a huge fan of this band. Each album is great in it's own way. They don't have any filler tracks to me.
I'd rank their catalogue like this:
1. Floodland (this is their crowning achievement IMO) 10/10 2. Vision Thing 9.5/10 3. First and Last and Always 9/10 4. Some Girls Wander by Mistake 8.5/10
It's too bad they don't have any more albums, they are freekin' masters.
I need to check out The Mission soon.

I love Floodland. I remember in the early 90's I got into them after watching a video for "Detonation Boulevard". I went out and bought "Vision Thing", and liked it alot. Then, I decided to dwelve a bit deeper in the catalogue and bought Floodland. It quickly became one of my favorite albums of the area. I especially like "Lucretia" and "This Corrosion".

Yeah, when recommending what album to get from this band, I always say "Floodland". That album pretty much sums up the majesty of The Sisters of Mercy.
Their Greatest Hits album, "A Slight Case of Overbombing" would be a good place to start too, but IMHO - "Floodland" is ESSENTIAL!!!

From 2017. Just purchased the CD. Arrived today. Sweden band. Recorded in Stockholm. CURE / SISTERS OF MERCY vibe is strong. After 1/2 a song, I was on EBay shopping for it. Not sure about the particular history of the band…..etc.
