I found out aboout this band after getting Kansas-No Place Like Home. Apparantly Steve Walsh and Kerry Livgren have decided to no longer write music for Kansas and this has left the remaining members with the drive to continue (this is kind of a good thing seeing as Walsh's vocals aren't what they used to be). So Billy Greer, Phil Ehart, Rich Williams and on again off again Kansas violinist David Ragsdale formed Native Windows. This band contains the same spirit of Kansas while not being a carbon copy. The songwriting on this album is outstanding and the vocals of Greer are even better than Walsh ever was IMO (not a anti-Walsh statement at all, he used to be a great vocalist and still ain't half bad). This album quickly shot up to my number 2 album of the year and while not surpasing Night Castle, I will probably listen to this one more (mainly because it's shorter and has less filler). I think any fan of Kansas can find something about this project to like and I'd higly recomment it.
