| I don't think I could come up with enough Maiden tracks to make a Best Of comp. I'm just not a fan of Bruce's soprano vocals. Yeah, I know, that's sacrilege on a metal board. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Thanks, Maiden has been my favorite band since '93 and only Savatage has come close. Now that I once again have all the studio releases, I wanted to play my favorite Maiden songs but also mix them up instead of going through each album one by one and skipping my least favorite. Origionally I was only going to pick my four favorite from each album but on albums like Killers, Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son, etc. I couldn't narrow it down. - Quote :

All I need is Angry Machines (which shouldn't cost too much) and Sirens (which does cost too much)

Yeah, I know, that's sacrilege on a metal board. You can't help what you do or don't like but he's a tenor, not a soprano. He only did high pitch vocals on Number Of The Beast (and very sparingly I might atdd) and usually sticks to his lower to mid range.

| He still sounds like Tarja Turunen to my ears.
Yet somehow I like Rob Halford. Go figure. EDIT: to add that in general, the older I get, the less tolerance I seem to have for the stereotypical metal "shriek". Kai Hansen, Andi Deris, Bruce Dickinson, Tim Owens, even most Halford, just seems to grate on my ears. Lower register vocals are my main reason for liking a band like Falconer; power metal without the "cat tail in a toaster" vocals. Just my opinion which I realize is not a popular one. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

You might want to clean out your ears then ( ) because I don't see how anyone could confuse Bruce's voice with a woman's.

| Of course I don't mean that literally; I'm "posting" metaphorically. I've just gotten to the point where I don't like high pitched male vocals. Remember my opinion of Steve Perry? This is just an extension of that. But I don't want to derail your IM comp thread so please continue. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| BTW, I'm over here listening to high school girls (Care Bears On Fire) shrieking about not fitting into the Barbie image so it's not like I have any room to criticize the vocals of bands other people like. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

thanks, laterz No, since I couldn't narrow the field down I just put all the Maiden songs on one playlist and randomly broke it up into separate discs leaving out my lesser favorite Maiden songs (although Heaven Can Wait and Mother Russia are favorites, I ran out of room-I might just make a last disc of all the songs that didn't make the cut, after all, there isn't a Maiden song that I flat out hate).
