I caught the Turisas, Alestorm, Arkona and Huntress show last week. Despite a few sound problems all the bands were great.

I've seen them twice. Under The Influence and Horrorscope tours. Blitz is a great frontman.

Went to see Rise Against and A Day to Remember last night.

I got offered free tickets to tonight's Nickelback show, but I'm gonna have to pass. Too late to find a babysitter.

Going to see Overkill on May 8th!

Not sure when I'll ever go to another concert with the way things are going.

Well, I dunno if I'm actually GOING to this yet, but I just heard about a gig that certainly sounds tempting... KIX will be playing a gig in Pompton Lakes, NJ called "Rockin' the Lake" this August. "Rockin' The Lake" shows are an ongoing series of outdoor concerts sponsored by the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge to benefit local charities.

...what makes this venue particularly odd for me is that I had my wedding reception at the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge back in 1999. I have photos of myself and my wedding party with the "Lake" in question in the background. Haha!! I am gonna do my damnedest to get to this thing. Not only do I live fairly close but I haven't been to a show in ages and haven't seen KIX since 1994 or '95. Great live band!!

I've probably seen KIX over 20 times, they played constantly in the VA/WV/MD area during my teenage years.

Well yeah, they're kinda the "house band" for that entire region aren't they?

I saw 'em about a half dozen times between '89 and '94. They never put on a bad show, they were always "on."

KIX was always a fantastic live band, they never truly captured their sound in the studio.

We played w/ Kix in like 1984, the first time at some place in Virginia. Then a show in Philly with them as well. Our bass player O.D'd (but lived) and their manager kicked us to the curb.

and yes they had it goin on onstage. I was somewhat surprised how different the sound was live compared to what I'd heard on lp before we played there with them.

I have seen Kix as well. They were always great live.

Agree - they were great when I saw them open for Priest a few years ago (last minute fill in for Whitesnake who had to drop off the tour). Going to see them at the M3 festival in a few weeks.
