| I know we all love metal here, and some of us (like me) like other types of music as well! I love music in general.
However, metal is my first love in music. What are your favorite genres of metal? Metal is after all, such a wide genre itself nowadays.
For me it looks like this:
1. European Power Metal (the melodic power metal stuff, I just love this. Some might refer to it as 'flower metal' Ala, Avantasia, Heavenly, Crystallion, etc) 2. American Power Metal (the thrashy power metal stuff, ala Iced Earth, Manowar, Brainstorm, etc) 3. Classic Metal (or just straight up heavy metal! ala, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc) 4. Symphonic Gothic Metal (ala Within Temptation, Leaves' Eyes, Nightwish, etc) 5. Progressive Metal (Dream Theater, Symphony X, etc) 6. Thrash (ala, Testament, Exodus, Sodom, Kreator, etc) 7. Melodic Metal (ala, RATT, WASP, TNT, etc) 8. Glam/Sleaze Metal (ala, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, etc) 9. Melodic Death Metal (ala, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, etc) 10. Symphonic Black Metal (Cradle of Filth, Ancient, etc) 11. Hard Rock/AOR (Bon Jovi, Brother Firetribe, etc) 12. Doom Metal (Trouble, Candlemass, etc) 13. Death Metal (Obituary, Nile, etc) 14. Black Metal (Immortal, Antestor, etc) 15. Progressive Hard Rock (King's X, Extreme, etc) 16. Metalcore (ala Mindrage, Shadows Fall, etc)
As you can see, when it comes to Metal - I pretty much like it ALLL!!! | |
