Well, I'm basing that on the fact that at one time I owned both albums and now I only own (and still spin) Pigs. While it's been years since I heard the debut, there must've been something that kept my interest with Pigs. Not sure I get the "grunge" connection, but the GnR influence was heavy, no doubt. In fact, I have a bootleg demo of Guns covering the song 'Crash Diet', which I believe was written by longtime GnR friend/collaborator Wes Arkeen.
