| Based solely on the horrid quality mp3 leaks that only serve to showcase how dang good the songwriting and performances are, there's only one album that needs to be mentioned by me and it's an album with a sucky name and terrible cover art.
KISS - Sonic Boom
No other album will surpass this for me this year as well as probably for many years to come. Yes, I like it that much.
later...Cliffy _________________ http://www.steinhausmastering.com

| Out of all the 2009 albums I've gotten so far this year, here is how I'd rank em (they are not all metal, but most of them are):
Vision Divine ~ 9 Degrees West of the Moon Iron Fire ~ To the Grave Saint Deamon ~ Pandeamonium Sirenia ~ The 13th Floor Primal Fear ~ 16.6 Ross the Boss ~ New Metal Leader The Last Vegas ~ Whatever Gets You Off Anubis Gate ~ The Detached Hardcore Superstar ~ Beg for It Heaven and Hell ~ The Devil You Know Kreator ~ Hordes of Chaos Absu ~ Absu Wolf ~ Ravenous Cannibal Corpse ~ Evisceration Plague Lacuna Coil ~ Shallow Life Combichrist ~ Today We Are All Demons Hammerfall ~ No Sacrifice, No Victory U2 ~ No Line on the Horizon KMFDM ~ Blitz Depeche Mode ~ Sounds of the Universe

| A buddy hooked my up with a CDr of Sonic Boom, and it rocks! I've been listening to it nonstop the last two days, and it's definitely up there with my favorite KISS albums. Some of Gene's songs are definitely new KISS classics and the tunes with Eric and Tommy singing are two of the best on the CD. | |

| 09 has been a slow year for CD buying for me, so I haven't really heard all that much. Of what I have heard the clear winners thus far are Heaven and Hell (THE DEVIL YOU KNOW) and Megadeth (ENDGAME).
Looking forward to hearing the forthcoming KISS and the new Ace Frehley before the year's out. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I didn't peg you for a Fu-fan Spec. I didn't think you cared for that stoner stuff. BTW, when does that come out? I always enjoy some new, fat, fuzzed out grooves from those guys. Got an ep of theirs on the way to me that I picked up at that CM Distro fire-sale last week. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | It's supposed to be October 20th I believe.
I've been a fan since I first heard "In Search Of...." I must admit I prefer Nebula, but the Fu has been nothing but consistent out of the gate. |

I like it ok enough, but nothing that bowled me over. Fu Manchu on the other hand is a band I can't get enough of. I'm slowly gathering up their discography. I saw that a new one was on the way, but I didn't know how soon. And as you stated, they've been pretty consistant from everything I've heard so far. Not a clunker in the bunch. They know what they do and they do it well. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
