| Hell yeah! - Quote :
- Norwegian metallers PAGAN'S MIND will release their new album, "God's Equation", on November 9 in Europe and January 15 in the U.S. The CD was recorded by Espen Mjøen at his Mediamaker Studio in Skien, Norway. Check out the album cover art at this location (probably NSFW—boobies!). Photos from the recording studio can be found here.
Never heard them? Check out these videos: ENIGMATIC MISSIONTHROUGH OSIRIS' EYES AEGAN SHOREShttp://www.myspace.com/pagansmind I would say that those of you complaining about Dream Theater's latter day noodling, and prefer the early Dream Theater material, should check these guys out. Still progressive power metal, but more streamlined. |

| You can't even compare these guys to the DT of today. I am completely stoked about this news. |

| What do you guys means when you say "they don't compare to DT"? Do you mean they're not as good or they don't sound the same? My comment was basically just to say they're a power-prog band that's not as "noodly." Style-wise, they're very much like early DT, I think. But no, they don't actually sound like DT, if that makes sense. Have you guys heard their cover of "At The Graves" (King Diamond) from the Infinity Divine reissue? It's pretty awesome! The King Diamond-like vocals are pretty spot-on. |

| Well what I meant to say is Pagan's Mind has the DT style but they add the elements of power in their music to feature a much more heavier vibe! Wargod48 | |

| I only have Enigmatic: Calling. I much prefer Dream Theater. I just can't get into this album for some reason. | |

| Killer band indeed. Didn't know the new album was finished already! But as much as I love these guys, I actually prefer Circus Maximus for some awesome norwegian prog/metal. _________________ | |

Agreed. Killer band. Can't say that I'd compare them, though, since they're very different style-wise. Speaking of Circus Maximus, I just got a CD through lala by a band called Harmony. Some dude sent me two CDs and I checked out his have list, saw this CD, checked out the samples, and thought it sounded great. So I requested it. He sent it. They sound a lot like Circus Maximus! It's a great CD. Check them out: http://www.myspace.com/harmonyfanpage http://www.harmonymetal.net/discography.htm (samples of every track) Seems like it'll be an easy CD to come by, too. |

| New song: UNITED ALLIANCE This song is just OK, though. Not the kind of song you want to be representing the album, you know? It's too slow. |

I like it, but they have lost something. I am still way excited about the new album. I have loved them since I heard them as Silverspoon on the old old MP3.com years ago. |

Ah, I won't say they've lost something based off of one song. It's a decent song, just not amazing. Maybe the guy at the label who chose what song to release thinks it's amazing, though? Who knows! I would have just expected something more typical of their style, unless they've unfortunately gone all mid-paced and changed on us. We shall wait and see, I guess! |

| I absolutely LOVE Pagan's Mind! I'd go as far as to say they are one of my favorite bands. "Celestial Entrance" is an incredible album - and was my introduction to the band years ago. I need to get all their stuff - I'm stoked about this new one! |

| E-card: http://www.limb-music.de/eCards/PagansMind The album sounds killer! And LMP are giving them the special edition treatment this time out, and you know that's gonna be awesome! Six bonus tracks, a video, a poster, a sticker, and wallpaper (I assume this means for a PC). Outstanding! Nov 9 in Europe. Jan 15 in the US. |

Early as in When Day And Dreams Unite, Images & Words, Awake, and even some of their latter day heavier stuff that's not so proggy-noodly. |

| When I describe Pagan's Mind to friends who havent heard them I say they sound like Dream Theater when Dream Theater was good, so I agree with Eyesore's view. |

| Yeah, I can agree with the 'early' Dream Theater comparison. Though personally I like Pagan's Mind MUCH better. |

| However, when I describe these guys to friends, I actually don't use Dream Theater - I use Crimson Glory. They remind me of "Transcendance" era Crimson Glory. Though most have not heard Crimson Glory - so that's when I revert to the DT comparison too - because it's as close as 'most' people are familiar with. |
