Laaz Rockit/Left For Dead!

Just finished listening to the new Laaz Rockit/Left For Dead cd. Wow.....excellent, nice to see these guys back in action!-TJ

I heard the two new songs they have up on their myspace and it kicks azz! Probably the best thing from the bay area right now besides Testament. I'm not really into the latest Death Angel and Exodus stuff.

I'm going to see these guys for the first time this sunday. I'm really digging their new stuff, very abrasive and heavy thrash metal.

Yeah I didn't like it either. I wish he would just sing clean instead of shouting

I've read a lot of bad reviews. What didn't you like about it mc?

i've listened to it 3 times now & it always sounds so forced. there's absolutely zero energy to the thing. i wish i could explain it better than that, but that's all i get.

Still sounds great to me, great crue of guys too-TJ

You aren't familiar with this band? The singer has always had that raspy shout voice like a thrash version of Brian Johnson. I don't know... the production sounds good the songs sound good...

I actually must eat my words on this. After giving it a good few listens this thing does kick ass. The only Lazz album I have is ANNIHILATION PRINCIPLE which I think is a good album and he doesn't shout .

But yeah give this new album a chance

Don't sound bad, but I kind of agree the vocals sound forced. The music is good though. Not the best thing in the Bay Area, but its good to see them release something new.

They kicked ass when they came here to Vegas with Testament.

I didn't think the vocals sounded forced...what did he sing like before?

Got it today. I freakin love it. Forced? Hmmm....That's how Michael Coons has always sounded like. He doesn't sound forced to me.

Good to see someone else liked it too. I saw them late last year and it was a good show.

I like it as well.Just spinning it today matter of fact.

I never really got into this band until a couple of years ago. I guess back in the day the name just turned me off I figured they were glam. Then I saw them on one of those Hard n Heavy videos and kinda liked the song but never sought anything out by them.

Then when I got online and met a lot of people raving about them I finally got around to buying most of their stuff. I even have a few bootlegs of them and I like everything I have of them.

I haven't heard any of the new one though. I just have been so broke the past year with all the surgeries and missed work my wife and I have had. So I am quite behind in anything new.

Good thing they remedied that problem when they changed their name to "Gack" in the 90's.

Their second album (NO STRANGER TO DANGER) is kinda glammy from what little I remember of it. L.R. were a little confused as to their direction on the first couple of records. The debut (CITY'S GONNA BURN) was kinda straight-up traditional metal, kinda Metal Church sounding. It wasn't till the third album that they started goin' all thrashy and stuck with that.
