Albums you are suppose to hate, but don't...

I know most people around here don't give a rip about what others think of their musical selections, but you know what I mean by the above statement. Albums that generally aren't appreciate by the metal masses, but you like 'em.

For instance,
I love the first BRITNY FOX CD. Most metal fans laugh at this band, but I think it's one great guitar-charged glam rocker!

Another is CELTIC FROST - Cold Lake. Yes, I know the band looks ridiculous, but what transpires really isn't that bad if you can separate it from the albums that proceeded it.

St. Anger. I hate to admit it, but I thought it was OK.

Why is anyone SUPPOSED to hate any particular album? If you like it, you like it. Don't be ashamed of it.....

Def Leppard - Hysteria. Most metal heads HATE it and what Mutt Lange did to their sound..... but I LOVE that album! It's my favorite Def Leppard disc!

I don't know too many people that HATE it. I think it's one of the best albums ever made....

I really like both of them. I'm on the edge of loving them both.

That's another reason I think you're alright, mc6. You never judge a book (or CD, in this case) by the cover.

I also like such widely-hated albums as Dokken's SHADOWLIFE, Warrant's ULTRAPHOBIC, and Megadeth's RISK.

I dont really care for Vol 3 that much but Iowa? Iowa will always the album that got me into some of the more heavy stuff I listen to now, the album is brutal.

I see more worship for 'Pleasant Shade' than hate, lol....... it's ok to like prog...


Megadeth - Risk (a few duds, but nothing that makes me comatose or become violent)
Helloween - Chameleon (except for 'First Time' and that horrible San Francisco song! Ugh!)

and maybe this is premature, but Blind Guardian - A Twist in the Myth. A lot of people are pretty sour on this everywhere I go but I think it's one of their best. I don't dislike one song, they've found creative ground that doesn't instantly invoke elves and it works, and the symphonic, big leanings work way better than on 'A Night at the Opera'. I think at least..

sorry, grew up near Hagerstown MD and I must have seen these guys about 30 times....

Symphonic Extremities by Ultimatum isnt hated(your a frickin idiot if you do hate it) but it is often said to be ultimatums weakest even by ult, but to me its my favorate of theirs.
