Worst Lyrics ever...?

Yes, we have seen it all before. The Juvenile, b-grade crap lyrics of Slayer...the slightly better, bu inspid stanic lyrics of early Mercyful Fate...and the just plain lame "Pop-Metal" lyrics...but THE WORST...EVER...is...*Drumroll*...CANNIBAL CORPS!

Seriously, I thought it was just some b-grade horror-crap as usual...but it was MUCH worse! ...seriously, it's the most mindless garbage I have ever read in my entire life...I will not even quote some of it...if you dare, go look for yourself...(especially "Tomb of the Mutilated" ...it's just plain sick/disgusting) ...after I read that, I thought it was plaine poetry, listening to Slayer...

THAT, along with the vocals, has got to be my biggest problem with modern Death Metal.

You'll find a lot of that w/christian bands; "yea, we're rockin'n for the rock, just can't stop, oh can't you see, he'll set you free." You'll find a plethora of bands using these same lyrics.

Not familiar with that band (and kind of have the feeling, that I am glad I'm not) ...if you dare, check out the lyrcis for Cannibal Corps' "Tomb of the Mutilated" album...I have never seen anything like it...sick and mindless.

The continued popularity of CC is one of the great mysteries of mankind, IMHO. You would think that the joke would've worn off by now.

My brother is a HUGE death metal fan and loves almost all of the bands that came from that "era" (i.e. late 80s/early 90s) but even HE thinks that Cannibal Corpse is retarded. He went to one of their shows to see what all the fuss was about years ago and to this day he refers to it as "a mistake"

I couldn't agree stronger, dude. The funniest thing though, is listening to people discuss the lyrics and so on - "Oh dude, he is like the master of gore! As Cannibal Corpse members said: They're all big fans of horror movies, and that's how they want their music to sound. Therefore, the lyrics are written in way to adjust the music.

My vote for worst lyrics would probably go for Vengeance Rising.

sick lyrics do not equal "worst" lyrics imho. bands like AC & CC write with the intention to disgust. therefore if it did the job, they did it well.

worst for me would be a song by Life Of Agony called Damned If I Do. in the second verse he sings...
