New Babylon A.D. album in November

Babylon A.D. will release a new album "Revelation Highway" through (who else?) Frontiers Records this November.

The label just unveiled the video for the first single, "Crash & Burn." What sayest thou, gang?

That song is OK IMO; certainly much better than that Autograph single.

But I think it also sounds like what it is; a late 80s/early 90s band trying to recapture the fleeting success they had back then. It's also not very memorable either.

I agree with you tho. It's not bad but it's missing that certain "somethin' somethin'." It's catchy enuff that I wanna hear more though.

I thought it was ok. Nothing earth shattering.

Another just ok tune. Oh well, I doubt I would have gotten it either way.

It's decent, nothing special. Are all these Frontiers bands making it? They've flooded the market with a lot of very similar sounding bands.

It's aight. Derek still sounds great, though.

Sounds heavier than the first two albums (then again, B.A.D. never really wrote many fast songs IIRC, most of their stuff were anthems, the occasional ballad, and bluesier stuff on the second album).

its good but i am not hearing the music that made their first one so good.

I got an Amazon gift card for Xmas so I used it to order the Babylon AD disc -- listened to it quite a few times today, sounds good but it's not a must-have. If I hadn't had that gift card to burn, I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to grab this.

By the way, four of the ten songs are re-treads of old tracks from when they were still called "The Persuaders," before they got signed to Arista back in the day. The original versions of those songs are on the "In The Beginning: Persuaders Recordings 86-88" compilation.

After repeated spins of Revelation Highway I may have to retract some of my earlier comments - I am diggin' this one much more than originally expected. (it's been getting WAY more play time than the new Warrior Soul, which I purchased at the same time, that oughta tell you something).
