Just starting to get into these guys, and I like what I hear so far. Metal On Metal is a great album and the only album I am familiar with besides a greatest hits I just picked up about a month ago. I want more Anvil though and I enjoyed the movie.

hope in hell is good too. worth checking out.

these guys still suffer from financial problems? weird because they are one of the best metal bands around.

I don't know if it's financial problems. I think the band just wants to release this one independently.

If you can, watch the documentary 'Anvil: The Story of Anvil'. It'll give you a sense of their financial situation.

It's been a few years now since that was released, and while it might have given them more recognition, I doubt their finances have increased that much unfortunately.

Here's a new song from the forthcoming album: "Die For A Lie."

That song's okay. It really reminds me of other songs by them.

That new song is pretty weak,Lips needs to get another guitarist in the band to get that sound they had in the beginning,even live it's not the same, I seen them back in 83 and they killed back then but this 3 piece just doesn't have it.

I own nothing by this band. It's not that I don't like them, it's more a question of time and resources to collect and digest a rare and large back catalog. Someday.

They sound too tired and out of ideas. But we still need to listen to more tunes in order to be able to properly assess the album.

Get their Anthology. It really gives you a good overview of their career.

That's pretty much where my Anvil collection began and subsequently ended. I have Plugged In Permanent too, but I haven't felt the need to dig much deeper.

If you can't find that Anthology album, they (or their record company) put out a more recent 'Best Of' compilation to capitalize on their recognition from the documentary.

Raven's newest album KILLS! It's one of their best ever so I am not sure where that comment is coming from unless you just don't like Raven at all.

The last two raven albums are awesome imo.
Pure speed! Not one boring moment.
I will not judge anvil, as i prefer to listen to the entire cd first.

I'm not excited about this album. I don't really care for the new track. This is one I'll have to listen to more of before I decide to buy.
