For what it's worth, I actually enjoyed the Stooges on Raw and it made me more curious to see the movie. The guy who plays Curley did a pretty good Hulkster. I'm surprised they did it considering he's in TNA but it may have been done as a rib.

The whole Outsiders storyline was beyond awesome. It worked because Lex Luger and Rick Rude made sudden apperances on Nitro before, so it was beliveable that those 2 guys were sent from WWF to invade WCW.. Because i watched WWF before i don't hated the Outsiders, because it was Razor Ramon and Diesel, two guys i liked, yet...they invaded WCW it was a weird situation. When Hogan came out on Bash at the Beach i thought he would kick their asses, his heel turn was what made this thing work. It was shocking, it was weird and crazy.
After the years reading that Sting was planned for the heel turn...i doubt that Sing could have pulled it off as Hogan did and Sting wouldn't have worked with Hall and Nash.

Anyway, i really liked Scott Hall, as Ramon he was just cool, as Hall he was awesome (he played the same character he did as Razor just Heel and later with the Wolfpac became a Face again, still with the same catchphrases. He is one of a kind who can be heel and face without changing much, like Jake Roberts, Roddy Piper Ric Flair...it will world, it's awesome-

I feel bad for Hall, i know how difficult it is to kick a drug addiction amd with his past and bring dropped from WWe to TNA down to the lowest indy feds (neither ROH nor Chikara want to hire him), i don't want to make fun of him as so many do....i feel bad for him

I feel pity for him. Despite so many people trying to help him, it's obvious he really doesn't want to help himself, even his best friend Nash realizes this. I've followed Hall ever since he was the Diamond Studd (and Nash was Vinnie Vegas-man that was a LONG time ago Very Happy) and have always known what a good talent he was. It's just a shame that he has fallen this far. The last person to fall this far was Jake 'The Snake' Roberts but in recent years he seems to have gotten better. Unfortunatly, I don't hold out much hope for Scott but I hope I'm wrong-TOO many wrestlers have gone down this path.

I do too I just wish and pray he gets help and finds a treatment that sticks. Its my prayer that he cleans up and does a big turn around that he shocks everybody

Hogan's heel turn was big, I liked the chemistry with Hall and Nash because you could tell these guys were friends its the same kind of chemistry you see with DX (Triple H and HBK) you can just tell these guys genuinely like each other.

True.
WWF/E never really owned the copyright for Hulk, Hulkamania and Hulkster, they had to pay a license fee to Marvel as they owned them (Incredible Hulk and all)
There's the rumor i read that one of the reasons why Hulk Hogan became Hollywood Hogan was because he didn't wanted to pay license fees to Marvel anymore. Later he bought the rights from them

I was probably the last big fan of the AWA. Their ESPN show was up there with Primetime Wrestling for must watch in the mid-80's for me. I loved the Scott Hall/Curt Hennig tag team. So sad to think what became of both of them. So much talent to be wasted away like that. And I feel even harder for their families.

I'm all for getting addicts the help they need with their disease but at a certain point I'm afraid someone has to step in and lock them up so as not to endanger those around them. Scott Hall graduated from this tiny college in Maryland near where I lived. Apparently he had family in the area and by all accounts at the height of the NWO was taking care of them. It was always said what a ggod guy he was....when he was sober.

If you ever had any merchandise from that era there was always a nice sized trademark symbol for Marvel at the bottom of all the Hogan stuff. I still have a big foam Hulk Rules finger.

Yeah, it's always roughest for those left behind. Speaking of Henning's family, I'm left wondering what's going on with Michael McGillicutty aka Joe Henning (stupid for them not to use the Henning name, WWE doesn't have to own everything-the reason why they came up with that name was so they could own the rights to it), as he has been non-existent on TV. They don't even use him as squash fodder.

When i was younger and the first set of WWF Trading Cards came out here in Germany (was in mid-late 1991) we always wondered why Hulk Hogan had two stars next to his name, while every other had just one. We assumed it was because Hogan was more awesome than the other wrestlers Laughing very hard

One of the most common mistakes in wrestling: It's Hennig not Henning Wink
Joe Hennig is at NXT showing up with other guys who for whatever reasons where demoted. Two days ago he lost against Tyson Kidd. If you think about it: That guy was big with the Hart Dynasty, Tag-Team Champion for over 150 days and now is at NXT and House Shows and at the most some Dark Matches.

It's the big problem with the WWE: They give a wrestler a chance and if he doesn't turn into the next Cena, he gets dropped. Instead of trying to bring over those younger guys, they rely on the old ones. It's basically WCW all over again.

So they have Mr. Perfect's kid wrestling and they don't do anything to promote that this is Mr. Perfect's kid? No wonder they've lost old fans like me. I'd probably tune in just to see what his son was like. How hard can it be to do something like "The Perfect Legacy" or something to play off his father.

They did in Florida Championship Wrestling. They had Joe Hennig and Brett DiBiase (son of Ted DiBiase) in a Tag Team called "Fortunate Sons" and always mentioned them being the sons of those famous wrestlers.
Problem is, once they arrive on the main TV shows of the WWE, they most of the time use another name (something WWE can trademark so they make all the money*) and ignoring the past.
They did it with Ray Gordy (son of Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy) instead of capitalizing on that, they first called him Jesse and later Slam Master J (one of stupidest names ever) without ever really mentioning who he was.

* - That's one thing i really, really hate. Back in the 80's and 90's WWF got aholt of a lot of great wrestlers and used the names they were known with. Randy Savage was still the Macho Man, Roddy Piper was still Rowdy and Hot Rot, Hulk Hogan was still Hulk Hogan, Ted DiBiase, Jim Duggan, Steve Austin later....the list goes on and one.
Then suddenly they decided they need money and want rights, so they change the names and most of the time, something completely stupid comes out. Ok Bryan Danielson - Daniel Bryan, that's OK but Slam Master J? Antonio Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli)? Seth Rollins (Tyler Black)? Kharma (Amazing Kong, TNA was so intelligent to just name it Awesome Kong, still close enough and fine)?
I mean, those names are bad, really bad and does somebody with a porn star name like Claudio Cesaro ever has the chance to enter the main event? I highly doubt it.

Wow Ted Dibiase's son wrestles too. Makes me feel old. They should do a whole second generation invasion thing.

The worst name change was Terry Taylor turned into the Red Rooster. I was such a big fan of his and was so excited when I read in the magazines he was coming to the WWF. Boy did it ever suck. Like why couldn't they get someone without talent to play a character mocking Ric Flair. And worse making him feud with Steve Lombardi of all people. Hated all of that.

They did, called Legacy (Dibiase Jr., Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes-also for a short time they had Snuka's son and Afa Jr.).

The interesting thing i once read was that Terry Taylor was supposed to get the Mr. Perfect gimmick, but they gave that to Curt Hennig. They started Taylor as "Scary Terry Taylor", a babyface. I think nobody really knows the reasons, why he than got that stupid gimmick.
I guess he pissed off Vince, do that and you're bound to get a crappy gimmick. Like Barry Windham as Widow Maker, Dusty Rhodes as "Common Man" with the stupid Polka Dot Outfit, Ricky Steamboat with that craptastic firespitting Dragon Outfit or the Legion of Doom with Rocco (Because nothing says "badass" more than a ventriloquist dummy)

If done right I probably would have dug that. Was a fan of all their fathers.

I actually kind of liked the Widowmaker thing with Windham. I would've loved to have seen him stick around longer - he was pretty great at that point.

Despite his limitations in the ring, I used to really like Sid Justice/Vicious, but man he has become quite a problem for the indies. He's been no showing a lot of shows and has done another one:

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/253411-psycho-sid-vicious-no-shows-yet-another-indy-event

Of course the blame has to start going to these indy promoters. If you have a former star notorious for breaking promised appearances and you book him, you've got nobody to blame but yourself.

I think I posted that in Unsound Mind a while back. I don't think I will ever watch that again. I like the idiots on youtube saying it was faked and that his boot was just hanging down. I used to make comments on there but with all those idiots on there, I don't do it anymore. As the statement goes, "Argue with fools and soon you can't tell which is which".

Faked?

Quote :

On January 14, 2001 at the Sin pay-per-view, Sid faced Steiner, Jarrett, and Road Warrior Animal in a Four Corners match for the WCW Championship. During the bout, however, he suffered a near career-ending injury.[3]

Members of WCW management allegedly felt that Eudy needed to broaden his arsenal of wrestling moves and suggested that he try an aerial maneuver, despite his "unwillingness." Eudy felt it unnecessary for a wrestler of his size and type to do high spots, and didn't feel comfortable doing them. During the match, Eudy suffered a leg fracture following his leap from the second turnbuckle in an attempted big boot on Steiner. This had him awkwardly landing on one foot while kicking with the other, severely fracturing the leg he landed on. Eudy broke his left leg in half, snapping both the tibia and fibula, with at least one of the bones breaking through the skin.[5] The fracture was too graphic for many TV stations to re-air,[5] although it was shown on the following Nitro
