Last night, while watching the end credits of an old episode of 'Robot Chicken' I had on my Tivo, I noticed the song & vocalist sounded familiar.

Turns out it was Steven Tyler singing "I Don't Want To Kiss Your Thing" to the tune of "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing". crazy happy

You can hear little bit here...

..but the chorus doesn't show up till the end credits roll.

BTW, the whole episode is frickin' hilarious too.

I was watching that old 80s flick "Troll" (not to be confused with the more (in)famous sequel) and there's a scene where the father is blasting blue cheer's verison of Summetime Blues.

Last night, I saw a commercial for some kind of ipad device with "Raining Blood" as the background music. I believe it came on during "Revolution".

I was watching the Today Show on NBC this morning and heard the opening riff to BOC's "Cities on Flame With Rock and Roll" used as a bump.

Flipping around the tube yesterday, I saw the movie 'Real Genius' with Val Kilmer. In one scene, he's wearing a t-shirt that said "Surf Nicaragua".

Even though the shirt was making a genuine statement to visit the country of Nicaragua and enjoy their surf-friendly shores, I couldn't help but think of Sacred Reich. \'arry \'eadbanger

Saw an episode of Criminal Minds where they go through a suspect's CD collection and find a Metallica CD as well as a reference to the song "Enter Sandman".

I'm half asleep here typing on the laptop in bed, so if any or all of these have been mentioned, my apologies.

Reign In Blood, in die hippy die episode of southpark.

L7 in Psycho Mum

Jerry Cantrel in Cable Guy

I once joked that wsd only the second most surprising thing about that movie. The most surprising thing about it is that Hulk Hogan didn't win an Oscar for his performance.

So far today my local morning news has gone to commercials with "Man In The Box" by AIC, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana and "I Nearly Lost You" by Screaming Trees.

I was like "What's up with all these Seattle bands?". Then it hit me; the Rams are playing their final NFL game of the season this weekend in...Seattle.

I've seen this commercial way too much in the past week or so. I thought it was kind of cool that my wife noticed the song the first time we saw it. I guess she is paying attention sometimes to the stuff I listen too. I still can't believe they used that song.

Last night I watched "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" for the first time in many years and during the scene where Kenny dies and goes to Hell, a song called "Hell Isn't Good" plays in the background. I swore it sounded like James Hetfield was singing it (or at least, someone doing a hell of a good impression of him) but there was no mention of James' involvement in the credits. A quick Google search, however, reveals that Hetfield did indeed cop to singing that bit (which was performed by Trey Parker & Matt Stone's band, "D.V.D.A.") in an interview a couple of years after the film's release. For all I know this could be common knowledge, but I had no idea about it till just now.

(NOTE: clip features crudely animated female boobies. NSFW.)

I never knew that. It's been ages since I saw that movie and I guess I didn't pick up on James' voice.

I do however know that Trey & Matt's band D.V.D.A. stands for "Double-Vagina, Double-Anal" which is a term they picked up when researching porno movie productions for their movie 'Orgazmo'. I let you figure out the rest.

Oh yeah, "Orgazmo" was a freakin' howl. Saw that one a long time ago.

I remember my father in law came over for dinner one night years ago and saw that DVD sitting on top of the entertainment center; he kinda raised an eyebrow at me like "Or-GAZ-mo?" (in a tone of voice that said "What kind of perverted crap are you exposing my daughter to?")....it took some doin' to convince him that it wasn't a porno, it just sounded like one. That was a little embarrassing Laughing very hard

The wife and I were watching a re-run of "Castle" on TNT a couple of nights ago and laughed when we saw a surprise cameo by Gene Simmons (playing himself) - Castle and Beckett were in L.A. investigating a murder and ended up at Gene's house to ask him a few questions.

When they walked away a star-struck Castle sez in disbelief, "I dressed up like him for Halloween!" and Beckett sez "so did I!" Laughing very hard

Yeah, that was a funny episode. Castle is actually filmed here in Los Angeles (even though it is supposed to take place in NYC). One episode featured them going to a comic shop which I've been to several times on Melrose Ave.

Cool! My wife and I have only gotten into that show recently via the reruns on TNT. We watched it a couple of times during its first season but then we lost track of it. Funny stuff, and dang, Stana "Beckett" Katic is a hottie.

Keef, since you like Castle, be sure to check out "Slither". It has Nathan Fillion in it and it's a creature feature / black comedy flick. The wife and I really enjoyed it and I can think of worse ways to spend and hour and a half than looking at Elizabeth Banks. Smile

Y'know, that one's been on my radar for a while but I've never gotten around to it. It shall now go on the never-ending "list."

Slither is great especially if you are a fan of 80s monster flicks like Night Of The Creeps. It plays like a cross between that flick and Society.

A movie called When in Rome is on the telly, and in one scene a dudes cellphone is ringing in the middle of a church wedding, and his ringtone is Warrant - Cherry Pie. The priest starts humming along!

OK, you guys talked me into it. "Slither" is available from the library so I reserved it (and also the "Justice League: New Frontier" flick that Manny hipped me about in another thread) yesterday...I should have 'em by the end of the week. Thanx for the tips fellas!
