OK, here's something extremely tough ... Sanctuary's Veil of Disguise. Anyone knows what's it all about? Some other stuff from Refuge Denied was tough to get also (Soldiers of Steel for example - at least I think that I got the point of that song Smile ), but this one is beyond me (for now). Any help would be welcomed!

I've passed into the afterworld

To a place where light can't intrude

I bear this curse transcending time

My pain denies me your truths

Dreaming to be free, yet damned to eternity

Dreams can set me free for awhile

Chained to this burning, yet only a child

My soul must feed, their blood has made me King

Look deep in my eyes

And see the calm before the

Storm winds of the damned are unveiled

And so with your blood

I feed and quell my hunger

The boy Pharaoh's curse is passed on

Screams of dying, I am back from beyond

Mock my religion, by the power of the God's I am strong

Rebirth through fire shall hold your fears at bay

See in my ancient eyes

Rip through my veil of disguise

Prowl in the darkness, pierce your throat

And your life-force is drained

Now my disciple, I take you and make you my slave

Rebirth through fire can hold your fears at bay

See in my ancient eyes

Rip through my veil of disguise

I have survived the centuries

Waiting for the mankind's demise

Surrender to me, and no longer live in terror

Give into me, or live your life in fear

I will dominate the likes of you

I will hunt you with the rising moon

Just one look from me and you are hypnotized

Frozen by the spell within my eyes

I'm ordained to reign

As I see the sun rise on these ancient sands

My immortal gift lies dying in your hands

Just a shot in the dark here, but the begining reads like someone condemmed to Hell, as put on by a Pharoh's curse.
:farao:
However, the 2nd half reads more like a vampire tale...

Prowl in the darkness, pierce your throat

And your life-force is drained

Now my disciple, I take you and make you my slave

So I'll guess vampires. Evil or Very Mad

Vampires? :)

I don't know, but I guess it's something, that is "eternal", and probably wrong, something artificial, something in that direction

"see in my ancient eyes
rip through my veil of disguise"

"i have survived the centuries
waiting for the mankind's demise"

or this -

"And your life-force is drained
Now my disciple, I take you and make you my slave"

Life force, blood = man's will probably? "my disciple, my slave" - I took command over you ...

:)

After a lot of thinking, studying, etc. I came to this conclusion. What do you think?

I've passed into the afterworld
To a place where light can't intrude
I bear this curse transcending time
My pain denies me your truths

- this one's easy, simply about Tutankhamun's death and the curse of pharaohs

Dreaming to be free, yet damned to eternity
Dreams can set me free for awhile
Chained to this burning, yet only a child
My soul must feed, their blood has made me King

- he's dead in one way, but he can't die (As he wishes), because his remains didn't find peace in the afterlife, after the discovery of his tomb. "yet only a child" - I believe that he was 17 when he died. Last line is about the curse; "my soul must feed" - it did feed with peace or something similar before the discovery of the tomb, but that's not possible any more. "their blood has made me king" - spilled blood of the dead; people who died because of the curse. He was king before, in Egypt, but he really became that now (-- also, the main rulers in Egypt were the gods, not him)

Look deep in my eyes
And see the calm before the
Storm winds of the damned are unveiled
And so with your blood
I feed and quell my hunger
The boy Pharaoh's curse is passed on

- first part: the masc (look below) looks somehow peaceful, magnificient, etc; "winds of the damned" etc - unleashed curse, similar as the previous strophe.

Screams of dying, I am back from beyond
Mock my religion, by the power of the God's I am strong

- first line: he's back from the dead with his curse; he's dead but he's back among the living, as he was the reason for those people to die
- second line: His father changed their religion from many gods to one, and Tutankhamun changed that back. "mock my religion" - from other religions, most probably religions of those, who died because of the curse.

Rebirth through fire shall hold your fears at bay
See in my ancient eyes
Rip through my veil of disguise

- "rebirth through fire .." - he was awaken by force, and the same is his vengeance
- I belive that the other part is about the "death masc", one of discoveries from his tomb. veil of disguise = masc; "rip through .." - he looks (or, his masc looks) very powerful, although in reality, he isn't (first two strophes)

Prowl in the darkness, pierce your throat
And your life-force is drained
Now my disciple, I take you and make you my slave

- the masc had two symbols: vulture and a cobra. This strophe is about a snake and the curse itself; "I take you and make you my slave" - in the afterlife, eternity, because the victims are dead now.

Rebirth through fire can hold your fears at bay
See in my ancient eyes
Rip through my veil of disguise
I have survived the centuries
Waiting for the mankind's demise

- probably, that he survived centrueis - mummified, and he'll live forever (in spiritual way), while the human race is sooner or later condemned to decline. Why - because of the people like grave robbers, those who died after the curse, because their greed and selfishness (and same goes for the entire human race)

Surrender to me, and no longer live in terror
Give into me, or live your life in fear

I will dominate the likes of you
I will hunt you with the rising moon
Just one look from me and you are hypnotized
Frozen by the spell within my eyes
I'm ordained to reign

- he's forced to reign, now, when he's awaken; it is about some kind of a revenge ("I will dominate the likes of you" - grave robbers, thieves)

As I see the sun rise on these ancient sands
My immortal gift lies dying in your hands

- "ancients sands" - the sands that were there when he was the Egypt ruler, and are still there now (yet the people are dead)
- second line; maybe about the treasures and the curse, but I'd rather go with something else, probably non-materialistic.

______________________
More about the curse: Many people, involved in the discovery (and their family members too) died in strange circumstances; probably because they were unworthy of it, they were in just for the money and not for their personal satisfaction. Carter, on the other hand, survived till 1939 - maybe, 'cause he gave his life for those things and he wasn't about the money?? However, on the day when they opened the tomb, his pet bird was swallowed by a cobra (remember, what was on the death masc?!?!!).

It read to me very much like a "version" of the Vampire mythos. Just the lyric writer's own take on the tale. A twist in the myth! Wink
